Chapter 19

Deku's p.o.v

I heard Katsuki yell and I look around at all the pro heroes frantically.

"You have to go in there and help him!" Everyone stared at me, "please! His quirk won't help him, h-he could die!" Tears welled up in my eyes.

"We can't, none of us are equipped to go in there, if any of us did go in to save him we could die as well." Someone said.

I quickly whipped the tears that had begun to fall, now getting frustrated, and without thinking, I charged back into the building. Yanking my arms free when someone tried to grab me to keep me from going in.

"Katsuki!" I yelled once I was inside.

"O-over here!" I heard him yell somewhere from the main room.

I pushed through the door and seen Katsuki looking around frantically for a way out. "Katsuki! Over here, hurry! The fires not too big over here!" He looked over to me, his eyes wide, and quickly ran toward me.

The beam above him fell, "KATSUKI!" I screamed. "G-get out of h-here, I-Izuku," I heard his voice, but I couldn't see him, making me panic more.

"No, not without you! Please, I need you!" Pleaded, a few tears falling. "T-take care of L-Lynx."

"Not without you, please!" I tried to get closer but had to step back as another beam fell in front of me.

I felt a pair of strong arms wrap around me, pulling me back, "no!" I screamed, trying to fight back.

"Stop Izuku! We're trying to help," I heard Eijiro's voice. "Forget me! Help him, please!"

I saw Shoto out of the corner of my eye, for a second I was relieved, thinking he would help Katsuki but a loud rumble shook the whole building, causing it to start come down quicker.

"Katsuki!" I screamed again as I watched the ceiling above where Katsuki was collapse.

"Get him out of here and come back when he's safe!" Shoto ordered Eijiro who began dragging me out of the burning building, "no! No, no, no, no!" I kept repeating, struggling in his strong arms, wanting to run back in.

Finally, Eijiro pulled me out of the burning building, "Hitoshi, keep him here!" He said, dropping me at Denki's and Hitoshi's feet before running right back into the fire. I quickly got to my feet and was about to charge back into the building but I felt a shock on my wrist, spread over my whole body, making me fall onto my ass.

"What are you doing Izuku?" Hitoshi asked, crouching down to look me in the eyes, "I have to-" I began but I lost my whole train of thought as a wave of tranquillity washed over me, calming my breathing that I hadn't noticed had gone haywire.

It felt like I had taken a nap, but was hyper-aware of my surroundings, the arms that cradled me from behind, the heat from the burning building, the damp ground under me and the dampness of my face, but I couldn't do anything, it was oddly. . calming in a way.

Not too long later the wave of tranquillity washed away as I came back to my senses, I blinked a couple of times and seen Shoto and Eijiro carrying a passed-out Katsuki close to Shoto's right side, I'm guessing to cool him off from the heat of the building.

The arms that still cradled me from behind didn't let go of me so I stayed still, watching as the two brought Katsuki over to me, only when Katsuki was laying right in front of me did the strong arms let me go.

I sucked in a shaky breath as I scanned his body, only seeing a few burn light marks on his arms and a burned cut across his left eye. 

"Don't touch him just yet, he's really hot," Shoto said calmly, using his right side to create a light layer of frost over Katsuki's arms and left eye, to cool off all the injuries.
