Gwen's POV

I woke up the next morning laying on the ground. I was huddled in a ball in between two large tree roots. I sat up looking around. Slowly getting to my feet I walked to the river hidden in the forest. Bright flowers were placed all over large trees circling it. The sun hitting the water making it sparkle. A big white tree hanging over it letting white petals fall into it.

I slipped my clothes off walking into the water it was warm. I scrubbed myself for what felt like hours. The clear sparkly water turning a deep red. I took a deep breathe before dunking my head under the water. The chirping birds were now quiet, the whistling breeze was gone. It was silent, dead silent. Normally I enjoyed it letting me go deep into thought thinking of what my next song could be but this time it was.. horrible.

All I could think of was Gally's bloody face, the blood that was splatter on my fist. I took a deep breathe inhaling water. I lunged myself out of the water coughing. I brushed my fingers thought my hair hitting the sore spot on the back of my head from my fall. My clothes had blood on them probably from when I was sleeping. Luckily I left a blanket from when I fell asleep here years ago. I wrapped it around myself walking back towards the camp.

I saw the boys working but I just walked past them not looking at them. I hugged my blanket tightly to my body. Soon I walked into the cabin grabbing clothes from the box under the small table at the side of the room. I put on a white strapless crop top, with green shorts. I had black combat boots and my normal accessories. My hair was pulled back into a tight ponytail.

I left the cabin walking to the area for the cooks. I grabbed my apron tying it around my waist. I cook what needs to be down before leaving and sitting on a log by the tree in the shade. When Gally walks over, I was about to leave but he grabs my arm stopping me. I look down not daring to look at his face.

"Gwen, look at me." He said softly.

I just shake my head.

"Sister, I said look at me!" He yelled.

I slowly look up at his bruised and cut face. My throat had a lump in it, the air sucked out of my lungs. It felt as if someone punched me in the gut. Tears were threatening to flood my eyes but I bit my lip and clenched my fist distracting myself with the pain.

"Gally! Gwen?" I heard someone yell.

He came over pushing Gally away from me pulling me into a hug. I didn't do anything I just stood there. He let go turning to Gally saying something but I wasn't listening.

"Newt." I whispered.

He turned and looked at me, Gally too. I looked up into his beautiful blue eyes. My knees were shaky but I threw myself forward. My arms wrapping around his neck, his going around my waist. I felt him tapping my thigh so without hesitation I threw my legs up wrapping them around him, my fingers finding their way into his blonde hair.

My face was buried in the crook of his neck enjoying his warmth but before I knew it he was sitting down in a chair tightening his grip around me. As soon as he was steady I pulled away. I sat on the floor in front of him resting my head on his lap. He ran his hands through my hair comforting me, something he learned over the years.

"Why did you do it?" He said slowly.

"I don't know, honestly I didn't even realize I was doing it until you pulled me away." I said slowly looking up at him.
