Amu woke up and sighed. It's been a week since Ikuto left and Amu was going about her normal life. Her life she had before Ikuto showed up but she just couldn't today. She coughed and sighed as her head pounded from her coughing. She groaned and flopped back on the bed. Today sucked! She's had a headache for 2 days and a sore throat from after the day Ikuto left and now her nose was stuffy. Rima knocked on the door. "Amu are you up yet!?" She asked. A little to excited for Amu's liking. She sighed and slowly got up. She walked over to the door and opened it. Rima screamed at the sight of Amu. "Amu you look hideous!!" She screeched. Amu glared at her. "Shut up I'm sick!" She rasped out. Rima sighed. "Well you could of combed your hair at least especially since Ikuto can see you." Rima stated. Amu rolled her eyes. "I already told you I'm sick, I'm not brushing my- WAIT DID YOU JUST SAY IKUTO CAN SEE ME!!!???" She shrieked. Rima smirked. "Yep, Naji and I were face timing and Ikuto asked to see you." She gave a small pout before holding up her laptop. Amu gasped but then started coughing. "I-Ikuto!!" She shouted. Ikuto laughed and waved. "Yo Amu! I see your sick with out me... could you be... love sick?" He teased. Amu turned red and grabbed the laptop. "Rima excuse I'm taking this." Amu said before closing the door. She hurried and sat the laptop on the desk and sat down. "Ikuto what are you doing!!!?" She asked. Ikuto laughed. "I wanted to see you." He said with a shrug. "Wait has Naji and Rima been facing this whole week you've been gone!?" She asked. Ikuto nodded. Amu scowled. "That liar she told me we would forget you!!" Amu pouted. "Amu how could you ever say that!?" Ikuto asked faking hurt. Amu giggled nervously. "Of course it was her idea! I never agreed to it!! Hahahaha 😅" She said. Ikuto chuckled. "It's nice to know you haven't forgot about me yet!!" Ikuto laughed. Amu blushed. "I couldn't if I tried!" She joked. They laughed and then things got quiet again. "Amu I miss you." Ikuto said. Amu nodded. "Yeah... I miss you a lot too. So um how's New York?" She asked wiping away the tears that threatened to fall. Ikuto sighed. "It's absolutely amazing!!! The people are so crowding but it's awesome here... I wish you could see this place!!" He rambled on about the things he's been doing but Amu wasn't really paying attention. She was to focused on the big smile on his face and the way his eyes light up in excitement. "Amu? Are you listening?" Ikuto asked. His eyes dropped and he frowned. Amu felt the lump in her throat begin to form. "Y-yeah I'm listening..." She lied. Ikuto frowned more. "Amu what's wrong?" He asked. She tilted her head. "Huh? Oh nothing's wrong... I just... its just... I think we shouldn't continue to see reach other anymore. I just don't want to hold you back. I see the way you look when your talking about New York and I feel like I'm the only things holding you back." She explained. "Amu!! What are you talking about!!? I love you!" He said. Amu shook her head. "Sorry Ikuto..." She whispered before she closed the laptop. There, she did it. She could let him move on. She opened the door to see Rima standing there. "Here." She said handing her the laptop back. Any wasn't to surprised that Rima was eves dropping. Rima took it. "Amu-" Rima tried but Amu shook her head. "It's for the better." She said. Rima nodded but didn't push the matter. "Well I'm heading out to find us a gig. Wait here until then." Rima said before leaving. Amu closed the door and picked up her phone to see a text from Ikuto. She opens it. "Hey Amu what the heck did you do that for?! Call me ASAP!" She smiled slightly before closing her phone and laying on the bed and staring out the window. A lonely tear slid down her face. She let it roll down her face. To Amu it wasn't a sign of weakness anymore. Amu had always told herself that she wouldn't show emotion like love and empathy anymore be Ouse of her ex boyfriend but now that was different. She didn't hate emotions anymore in fact this simple sad tear reminded that she truly loved Ikuto. She sighed and wiped the tear away. She sniffed and stared out the window as the sun beamed a warm ray of light on her. She then closed her eyes and thought of the memories she had made with Ikuto. He was free to choose his future. If you truly love something... Set it free...
