When It Rains

Chapter 12

SERENITY WOKE UP THE NEXT DAY feeling groggy. But when memory from last night filled in her mind, she can feel herself blushing.

It's so early for me to blush!

Marahas niyang ipiniling ang ulo at umalis sa kama. The sun today is shinning beautifully that made her think the weather is getting along with her mood. Matapos maligo at magbihis ay bumaba siya sa kusina para kumuha ng kahit anong pwedeng kainin.

Paniguradong wala na sa bahay ang ate niya sa mga oras na 'to. She didn't saw her after a hot-looking guy visited her sister also last night. Ang alam lang niya ay aalis ito ng bansa. Hindi na siya nagtanong kasi hindi rin naman siya interesado.

Gumawa lang siya ng isang simpleng sandwich at uminom ng yakult. Pagkatapos ay kinuha na niya ang kan'yang bag sa kwarto at lumabas ng bahay.

What's waiting for her outside surely made her heart stumble.

"Huh?" Tanging sambit niya matapos makita ang mukha ni Dean. Nakasandal ito sa pinto ng passenger door at nakapamulsa. "Kanina....ka pa?" Tanong niya sa mahinang boses.

Instead of answering, he smiled that made her heart flutter. H-handsome. Why is he so handsome? Is this his way of making her fall like what he said?

Lumapit ito sa kan'ya at tumitig sa mukha niya. Serenity just look at him—confused and preparing herself to what he'll do next. But still he took her by surprise when he unexpectedly kiss her cheek.

Oh, gosh. Is this flirting? What the hell?

"Good morning. Did you have a good night sleep?" He asked in a sweet tone. Totally different from the 'kinda' aggressive Dean she knows.

"Yeah....sort of."

He blinked. "Sort of? Why?"

Does he really have to ask me that?! Of course it's because of the embarrassment I did to him last night. She kissed him! Tapos pakiramdam pa niya sigurado na siya dito. Sighs. Self, you confuse me at times.

"Bakit ka pala nandito? Hindi mo man lang ako sinabihan na pupunta ka." Pag-iiwas niya sa tanong.

"Oh. You didn't say anything when I kissed you." Pansin nito na ikinagulat niya. Happiness is visible in his face. "Does that mean we're okay?"

"H-huh?" Nag-iwas siya ng tingin rito at napakagat labi. She doesn't know how she'll say it. Is this the right time for that? "You know..." Sasabihin na ba talaga niya? Paano ba kasi? Masyado pa bang maaga?

"Ano 'yon?" Dean waited for her to speak.

Sinalubong niya ang tingin nito. "I want to try how far we can go." Her grip to the strap of her tote bag tighten. "But can we still keep it ourselves? I want it to be private until we're both sure it's permanent."

He blinked again. "You mean...you agreed?" He asked—confirming.

"Yes."

Nagtaka siya nang tumalikod ito. Nang muli itong humarap ay niyakap siya nito ng mahigpit. "You surely made my day. Damn it, Serenity. Why do you make my heart flutter so early in the morning?"

She's blushing but she can't help but to make a deadpan look. I should be the one asking him that.

Kumalas ito sa kan'ya at nakangiti siyang iginaya sa loob ng sasakyan. "Did you have coffee?" Tanong nito na ikinailing niya. "Let's go get some then. Maaga pa naman."

Hindi na siya sumagot rito at hinayaan na dalhin siya sa coffee shop. He even volunteered to buy it himself while she waits inside his car. Nang makabalik ito ay binigay nito sa kan'ya ang isang styro cup ng laté at macaroons. Sa loob ng sasakyan na rin sila kumain. Dean also unusually talkative as they talk. Maybe it has something to do with their relationship right now.
