Kwareds ears flicked at the quickly approaching footsteps as he groaned internally.

Was someone trying to jump him again?

He slowed a moment as they got closer waiting before turning and bringing his nails down towards them.

The person jumped back as Kwared stopped and resorted to a glare. He stayed quiet before turning away with his hands in his pockets and walking.

"H-hey what was that for??" Phandrin asked as his ears pressed back in annoyance. He jogged a bit noting the heeled boots the boy wore.

"I told you, I don't associate with you," Kwared hissed as Phandrin rolled his eyes.

"Oh drop it, nobody is here anyways," Phandrin mocked as they made it to the coffee shop, Kwared coming to a stop.

"Why are you following me." Kwared deadpanned turning to Phandrin who reeled back a bit.

"I was planning on coming here, I just happened to see you, why are you here?" Phandrin squinted his eyes in suspicion as Kwareds stoic expression broke momentarily. A small smile spread over his mouth as Phandrin smiled in accomplishment.

"There's what I love to see~" Phandrin laughed as Kwared scoffed.

"I found your strange expression amusing, don't treat it as some great occurence," he waved Phandrin off as the boy shrugged.

"Well, you never answered me, why are you here?" Phandrin insisted as Kwared moved to lean on the familiar bench.

"I come here often, I just hang out here or in the alley on my free time," Kwared mused as Phandrin recalled the alley Kwared had attacked Holly in.

"Oh, well.. I guess that makes me the odd one out," Phandrin rubbed his neck glancing to the side. Kwared looked at him waiting for him to continue.

"I just liked that atmosphere last time, it's peaceful? I guess? I didn't know you hung out here," Phandrin shrugged looking at the run down coffee shop.

"I see your wings are growing well.." Kwared said with slight sacasm as Phandrins ears wilted.

"Yeah I.. haven't found out who it is yet, but the feathers near the bottom are turning black, I don't know what it means but I almost have a full set," Phandrin said quickly unfolding them. Kwared felt a pang go through him as he looked at the boys wingspan, the feathers at the bottom being the only ones missing. Red faded to dark red, crimson then black.

"That's too bad, I'm sure you'll find who it is soon enough," Kwared huffed turning to face the coffee shop. Phandrin stayed quiet keeping an eyes on the boy.

He stared for a moment before looking down to his back.

"You haven't gotten any feathers?" Phandrin asked as Kwared shook his head.

"No, I don't need a soulmate, I think of it as lowly and they would likely think of me the same," Kwared hummed out shifting as he pulled out a small wooden stick putting it in his mouth.

Phandrin nodded slowly leaning down against the bench opposite of Kwared.

"I'm sure they would see the bright side, you can't be all that bad. Besides, I'm sure you will find them eventually," Phandrin smiled at Kwared who only glanced back at the boy before shrugging and looking down.

"Whatever.. I couldn't care any less," he sighed before something hit the Fox's head.

Kwared let out a Yelp before growling and turning to grab the boys collar.

Phandrin jumped in the boys grip waving his hands.

"I didn't throw it-," Phandrin was cut off as the two boys glanced to the side seeing Metis with Holly behind them.
