Freia woke up rather too late than she usually does. It was already four o’clock in the afternoon, but she wasn't late for school as her new schedule starts an hour after.
She took her new uniform which was still on its hanger, raised it over her body and looked at the mirror. She suits it, thought she. Looking at the window to take a glance where the crepuscule building was, she noticed a man with the blonde hair staring at her room which made Freia creep out and so she closed her window.
“Hmm?” her I.D. didn’t seem to help her open the door so she did try again, but it really didn’t work. “Could it be—” she realized the situation. Her card wasn’t invalid anymore. She ran towards her room, reopened the window and pushed herself onto it.
“I won’t jump, okay?!” she screamed at the top of her lungs, taking the attention of the man now about to leave.
“Oh—” the man turned around, put his left hand into his pocket, run his right hand over his head and flicked its middle finger with the thumb. All of the sudden, she could see an almost transparent mist which abnormally disfigures everything that surrounds it. He then pointed at me and Freia was floating. FLOATING DOWN TOWARDS HIM.
“W—whoa!” she was airborne.
“Stay still, you dimwit.” said he, having a difficulty of concentrating his abilities to a thing that’s talking.
“Careful there boy, I almost got hit by a branch!” she struggled. The man with the pale blonde hair swore.
“Stop moving!” he then, finally went unfocused, leaving Freia falling downwards by herself.
“AHHH—!” she fell with a big thud. She stood up, not saying anything. “And my uniform was new and well…” thought she, while the man offered her a hand, she took it and said “Thank you, blondie”. She was angry though.
TIP-TAP TIPPY-TAP. Her shoes were almost throwing a tantrum. If Freia would hit it harder on the ground, it will break the hills into two, maybe even three.
“Wait!” he swore. How could a girl with short legs walk this fast, he thought. Freia heard him click his tongue and his impression of him couldn’t get much worse.
“I said—”
“WAIT!” he flicked his finger once again which pulled Freia back at him.
“I’d like you to know that you’re feeling too close.” said she, looking at him angrily and she meant it both literally and in terms of relationship.
“Sorry” said he in a rather more relaxed manner as the magnet that was pulling them vanished.
“It’s just that…” he mumbled as Freia started to continue walking.
“First, I apologize for dropping you. I am just a level 10, considered to be a knight, a pawn in the system. “
“B—” Freia tried to interrupt but he barely cared and gestured stop-talking-me-first with his open palm.
“Shh— Second, it’s my job to open the door so if you would, please move aside for a while as I open it for you, your highness.” he dropped it off and walked towards the very heavy and old yet well-maintained two-door entrance.
