"So you just shot this guy?" Fury screamed at me angrily. "Wasn't that one of the things we were supposed to do?" I asked and crossed my arms over my chest.
"No. You were supposed to take down the Hydra basis." he said. "And that's exactly what we did. I don't see the problem." I answered. Fury sighed angrily before leaving the room.
I looked at Sam and Steve but they just shrugged. "Did I do something wrong?" I asked. "In my opinion you didn't. I would have acted the same way." Sam confessed.
"Sam's right. Nat is our friend. What you did was right. He would have tried to kill her again." Steve said. I nodded slightly before standing up.
"When are we leaving?" I asked. "We leave in 20." Sam answered. I went up to my room and packed my bags. "We're leaving in 20. Can't wait to see you. We need to talk once I get back." I texted Nat.
"Alright, see you soon. Stay safe." she answered. I brought my luggage into the lobby. I was the first one there. A few minutes later Steve and Sam arrived at the same time.
We brought our luggage to a taxi, which drove us to the airport. After we boarded our private plane, I started reading a book. Sam sat opposite me and Steve sat next to me.
"You guys think Fury still wants me to be an avenger?" I asked. "Most likely. He'll tell you you need to learn how to stay calm when someone you care about is involved but I'm sure he still wants you to be one." Sam said.
"Is it weird that I don't want to be an avenger? Don't get me wrong, I have respect for the job you guys do but this isn't something I want. I was always on my own, I never had a team I had to care about. Since I met you guys there are already too many people I care about. I don't want to get too attached." I explained.
"I don't think it's weird. I didn't want to be an avenger either. Tony and I didn't get along when we first met so I wasn't looking forward to it. Sometimes I wish I could live a normal life. Marry, have children, settle down. But that's not the life that was chosen for me. You still have that choice." Steve said.
I smiled at him slightly. "I don't think it's weird either. It's Crazy and exhausting to be an avenger. I think if you'd become an avenger, you'd be working with Nat a lot." Sam stated.
"You say that as if it was a bad thing." I said raising my eyebrows. "I didn't mean it like that. If the both of you have the same job you'll bring your job into your private life. You're going to have a lot of disagreements and arguments. I don't think either of you want that." Sam explained.
I nodded before I leaned my head on Steve's shoulder and closed my eyes. "We care about you too, by the way." Steve said, making me chuckle before I drifted off to sleep.
