*Time Skip, about two years later; there's one more chapter after this one*

I came home from a mission and went straight to Natasha's and I's apartment. Tony offered us to move into an actual appartment in the Stark Tower.

I took off my jacket and threw it on the couch, not caring if it looked messy. "How bad was it?" Natasha asked as she came into the living room.

"It went good." I said truthfully before plopping down on the couch. She sat down next to me and I laid my head on her chest. "Why aren't you happy then?" she wanted to know.

"We know that Hydra experimented on people. But there was a little girl. When I rescued her she told me she had a brother but he died because of the experiment. Her parents are dead too, she doesn't have anyone. She's gonna get in the system." I explained sadly.

"Mhm. Why don't we adopt her?" she asked. My head shot up and I looked at her. "Are you serious?" I smiled. Nat couldn't get pregnant and I didn't want to have biological children.

I could have got an artificial fertilization but I didn't want to go through pregnancy because of the issues that can be caused by it and Nat understood my point of view.

We never really talked about adopting children, so when Nat suggested adopting the little girl, my heart swelled with happiness. She nodded at me.

"Nat, you're a genius! I love you!" I screamed as I peppered her face with kisses. She started giggling and took my face in her hands. "I love you too." she smiled and kissed me softly.

I pulled away and pulled out my phone. I dialed Furys number and waited until he picked up. "How may I help you, miss Thordottir?" he asked.

"Hello, Mister Fury. You know how we were able to rescue the little girl from this hydra basis?" I asked. I could tell he must have raised his eyebrows on the other end of the line.

"Yes, why?" he asked. "Agent Romanoff and I would like to adopt her." I answered. "Huh, I didn't see Natasha wanting to adopt a child." he mumbled to himself.

"Fury, we're two women that are dating. How are we supposed to have biological children with each other?" I asked as I frowned. I heard him chuckle.

"You're right. You guys are sure you want this?" he asked. I looked at Natasha and she nodded reassuringly at me. "Yes, we want to adopt her." I answered.

"Great! I'll arrange everything." Nick exclaimed before hanging up. "We're gonna be parents." I said smiling at Natasha before I hugged her. We laid down on the couch and cuddled.

A few weeks later, we had prepared a bedroom for the little girl, her name was Sarah, which I thought was really cute because Sam's sister's name and Steve's mom's name is Sarah.

Sarah was a cute girl. She was always friendly and welcomed everyone she met. Loki immediately fell in love with his niece when he met her.

She wasn't scared of him and she didn't see him as the bad guy. He felt safe with her and he knew he didn't need to act like someone he wasn't. They adored each other.

Sarah loved her grandfather and my dad loved her. He always wanted to have grandchildren, I knew that but for people who didn't know he was a god, it must have seemed weird.

Dad looked like he was in his 30s even though he was more than 1500 years old, so it must have been weird for people who didn't know him to find out he had a granddaughter.

Even though Nat and I weren't married, we knew we weren't gonna break up anytime soon. In the almost three years we had been dating, of course we had arguments.

But it didn't take us long to forgive each other and talk about it calmly. I couldn't wait to marry Nat. Who knows, maybe it'll happen in a few years.
