I had been training with Natasha for a few weeks when a man named Nick Fury came up to me. "Miss, my name is Nick Fury and I am the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. I'd like you to become one of our agents. I've been told that you've been training with Agent Romanoff for three weeks and she told me that you were a great fighter." he told me.

"Fury, I'm not really the type of person to work in a team. Training with Natasha and living with the avengers has been one of the most team-like experiences I've ever had." I said.

"Yeah, I've been told. Your uncle doesn't have a great past with S.H.I.E.L.D but you probably already know about that. Your father would be very proud of you though." he explained.

"Is it okay with you if so think about it for a bit? This isn't a decision I want to make just now." I asked him and he nodded. "Call me once
you've made your decision. Stark has my phone number, he'll give it to you." he said and left.

The next morning I went to the training room to train with Natasha like every morning for the past weeks. Natasha and I had become friends, I would say. But that didn't really help my crush on her.

Once I reached the training room and stepped into it, I noticed that Natasha wasn't anywhere near. I spotted Clint in the right corner across the room.

He was fidgeting with one of his arrows. I dropped my bag by the door and made my way over to him. "Hey, what are you doing here? Where's Natasha?" I asked.

He turned to look at me but looked away again. "Fury sent her on a mission. She told me to train with you today." he explained. I nodded and crossed my arms over my chest.

"Where do we start?" I asked. "Well, I'm not really the hand to hand combat type of person, so I'm probably just going to practice working with bow and arrow today." he told me.

He handed me one of his bows and a quiver with arrows. "You see that target?" he asked and pointed in the direction. I nodded and aimed at the target.

"Focus and try to hit it." he said. I closed one of my eyes in attempt to get a better aim. I let go and hit the target in one of the yellow spots near the middle.

"That was pretty good already. I noticed you close your eyes, probably in attempt to aim a little better. I never close one of my eyes. Try it without closing it." he suggested.

I took another arrow and aimed at the target, this time keeping both my eyes open. I let go and hit the target right in the middle. Clint nodded in an appreciating way.

I lowered the bow and looked at Clint. "Clint, may I ask a question?" I asked. He looked at me quizzically but nodded. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes for a second.

"Why do you hate me so much?" I asked. This seemed to catch him off guard. "I don't hate you." he stated. "But why do you never smile at me when I smile at you? Plus you don't seem to be pleased that Natasha and I are friends." I said.

"It's not that I hate you. I just don't want you to hurt Natasha, neither physically nor mentally. She's been through a lot and I know your reputation about women. I just don't want my best friend to be one of the women you fuck and then drop." he told me and sat down on a bench.

I said down next to him with a bottle of water in my hand. "Clint, trust me I don't want to hurt her. I've never met a woman like her and I'd be pretty stupid if I let her go. I want to spend more time with her and maybe I'll fall in love with her and she'll fall in love with me. Who knows. All I know is that I would never want to hurt her." I told him.

He smiled at me softly. "Thanks for telling me. I hope you didn't take this as criticism or that I wanted to offend you." he said but I shook my head smiling.

That's when Steve bursted through the door. "It's Natasha. She's back from the mission. She got hurt."
