*writers pov*

"when do you think y/n will be back?" ron asks eagerly at harry and hermione.

"soon, why?" hermione asks him.

"i need to ask her something.." ron replies, a smile pulling at his lips.

"wait, the question?" hermione asks, emphasising the 'the'.

"yep" ron replies.

"oh my gosh! finally!" she says excitedly.

"she's been gone a while, you'd think she'd be back by now wouldn't you?" ron says, worried about where his possible girlfriend could be.

"yeah we should go get her before it gets too late" hermione suggests. harry, hermione and ron all head out.

"she can't be far, she doesn't really know her way around here" ron states, hermione and harry nod and continue to walk down the street. that's when ron spots somebody on the floor, filled with dread that it could be y/n he walks over.

"oh..no, no, no. y/n!" ron shouts while holding her head in his arms.

harry rushes to get sirius and the rest of the adults while y/n lies unconscious in rons arms.

"what happened?" sirius asks when he arrives.

"i don't know, we found her like this" ron says, tears brimming in his eyes.

"it's was you know who, he's after harry so he must of took it out on his friend, to scare him" sirius informs them.

"but y/n didn't do anything wrong!?" ron says, his emotions were mixed. he was angry, but he was also devastated. all he wanted to do was keep her safe and protect her and he couldn't, and now she was hurt.

"she's gonna be okay right?" rons voice breaks as the words leave his mouth.

"let's get her to hogwarts, it's not safe here" he demands, and with that, they all get their bags and head off to hogwarts, y/n still unresponsive.

"how is she?" hermione asks the nurses the next day.

"she's still asleep, we've cleaned up her head wound and she's stable for now" the nurses inform hermione and her friends.

"so what exactly is wrong with her?" harry asks.

"were yet to figure that out, we need to wait for her to wake to see if there's any further damage" the nurse replies.

"can we see her?" ron asks eagerly.

"of course" she says. ron, harry and hermione all head over to her bedside.

"oh i'm sorry, i shouldn't have let you go" ron says as he holds her hand. suddenly, her eyes open.

"hey, how you feeling?" hermione asks her.

"i-i'm fine.." she says hesitantly.

"i'm so glad your okay" harry smiles.

"we were worried sick about you" ron says.

"what happened?" she asks, confused by her surroundings.

"you know who happened, son of a bitch" ron answers angrily.

"who?" she asks.

"you know, you-know-who?" ron answers.

"no, i don't" she answers.

"wait, y/n who am i?" ron asks the girl, there was a long pause of silence before she mumbled a simple;

"i don't know".
