**your pov**

i woke up the next day feeling slightly less moody than the night before, i chose to forget everything what happened with ron and move on as normal. last night i told hermione everything what had happened so she was aware of the situation. we both got ready and headed down to the common room to meet the boys.

"y/n-" ron started, i cut him off before we could get into the conversation i didn't really want to have.

"hi ron! cmon we're gonna be late" i said walking out the room. i saw cedric and ran over to him.

"oh cedric, i changed my mind, would you still be willing to take me to the ball?" i said flirting with him. i don't know if i was doing this out of anger or not.

"oh y/n, hi, yeah of course!"

i smiled and walked back to my friends.

"what was that about?" ron asked.

"oh, i'm going to the ball with him" i replied. i went to talk to hermione and as i did so i saw ron give harry a confused face. it wasn't any of his business anyway.

**skip to day before yule ball**

we were all sitting in the great hall eating our breakfast when three parcels landed on our table. i grabbed the one with my name on and opened it, it revealed a beautiful silk slim fitted blue dress. i stared at it and held it up, lost for words.

"oh my word! that's beautiful!" hermione said.

"i know! but i could never pull this off, i'll probably just chuck one of my old dresses on"

"oh shut it" ron said.

"what!"

"i think you'd look great in it, hermione don't you agree?" he said,

"yes totally! you'll look beautiful"

"i agree" ron muttered under his breath, still loud enough for me to hear though.

"fine! i'll wear it"

hermione opened her parcel to reveal a beautiful pink dress, harry was next to open his and when he did it revealed a smart black suit. we all finished our breakfast and headed to our classes.

"have you even spoke to cedric after agreeing to go with him" ron asked me.

"have you even spoke to lavender since agreeing to go with her?" i replied.

"no.." he said.

"exactly, god i'm nervous"

"why?"

"to go with cedric, i don't know how to talk to him, he doesn't understand me"

"like i do" ron added smiling.

"like you do" i said smiling back.

we finished all our classes and headed to the common room. we all talked about the ball and how excited we were, more me and hermione than the boys though.

"oh goodness! the time! i want to get some sleep so i can get up early enough to get ready" hermione said.

"yeah let's go" i said. we all stood up to say goodnight. hermione hugged harry and i pulled ron and harry into a group hug, but i whispered goodnight into rons ear.

we went upstairs and went to bed, excited for the following day.

we woke up relatively early. i sat up in bed and shouted at hermione to wake up.

"i'm so excited!" she said sitting up. we didn't even bother getting changed out of our pyjamas to go to breakfast, i had shorts and a vest top on so i put a hoodie over the top to feel a little more covered up. we saw ron and harry and went to sit with them.
