draco smiled back at me before standing up and holding his hand for me to grab. i used it to pull myself up and let go.

"i would invite you back to the common room, but slytherin's and gryffindor's don't mix very well" he said with a slight chuckle.

"yeah i get it, bye draco" i smiled before heading back to the common room. once i got back, i said goodnight to everyone and headed to bed.

once i woke up the next morning, i got ready for the gangs day at hogsmeade. once me and hermione were ready, we met the boys in the common room. when we were walking to hogsmeade, me and hermione were walking behind the boys, but not too far so that we could still listen in on their conversation.

"it just wasn't working mate, she's not the one for me" i overheard ron say, me and hermiones heads instantly turned to eachother, we raised our eyebrows before pushing inbetween them.

"what happened then?" i said to ron.

"what?"

"with lavender"

"you nosy bugger! anyway, i broke up with her"

"good" i didn't mean to say it, it just slipped out. and i don't know why i said it either.

"how?" he said, with a confused expression.

"hm? i didn't say anything? anyway, come on" i grabbed his hand and tan through the snow. for some reason, it felt like a massive weight of my shoulders knowing him and lavender aren't together. things were normal again.

once we arrived at hogsmeade we headed to the three broomsticks, we grabbed a 4 table, me and ron one side, hermione and harry the other. ron went to order our butterbeers.

"thank god you two are actually sorted, even i could feel the tension" harry said.

"i know, but we're sorted for good. now that lavender is out the picture"

"oh abit jealous we're you" hermione said, giggling.

"of ron and lavender? no! that's mad" i said in my defence.

"what's mad?" ron said walking back over with our butter beers.

"oh nothing" i said quickly. he gave me a confused look but then forgot about it. we all talked about how it was the final task in a few days, it was so exciting.

*day of final task*

"good luck ced" i said, hugging him.

"thanks y/n, see you soon" he said smiling.

i walked over to harry and wished him luck before me hermione and ron took a seat. the task went on for ages.

"what's taking so long?" i asked ron. hermione had moved next to cho.

"i'm not sure"

suddenly, harry and cedric appeared, but something didn't seem right.. i stood up and saw cedric, lying on the floor. dead.

i screamed before smacking my hand over my mouth, the whole audience stood up and saw him. cedrics dad ran down to him. i was in shock i turned my head and buried it into rons chest and cried. i cant believe it. cedric's dead.
