The two boys had been gone for about three days now, which was pretty normal. And she was usually assigned jobs or work to waste some time before Dazai arrived. But since Chuuya joined, she didn't know how fill the emptiness that she suddenly felt. She couldn't wait any longer for them to come back.

She sat at her desk spinning around in her chair and looking at the ceiling. Odasaku would come in once in a while. She'd look over at him and not say a single word. But he already knew what she wanted to hear. "No, they haven't come back yet."

That's what it's been like so far. She looked out the window and watched the sun about to set. This was the closest thing that could fill up the emptiness. But it wasn't enough. She still wasn't sure as to why she was feeling this way. She the looked over at the small, empty, closet in the corner of her room. Maybe...

Misaki looked down at her desk and grabbed o to Chuuya's hat. She took a look at it and smiled before putting it on her own head. It comfort her for some reason.

After the sun had set and the sky was now dark, boredom to over. The only thing that ever entertain her was Dazai. Even in times where he annoyed the hell out of her, that was still better than what she was feeling right now.

She got up from her chair and walked out of her office. She wasn't sure where she was going, but walking seemed to help with the boredom. Odasaku wasn't even around. She honestly wished she had gone with him to see the kids.

Misaki suddenly heard a bunch of yelling, wondering what these idiots are probably arguing about. But after a few seconds, she recognized the voices of those idiots. She turned around to see Chuuya and Dazai walking and screaming at at each other. But she knew Dazai was the one who probably made the smaller boy angry.

"We could have gotten this done quicker if you had just done what I said!" Chuuya screamed.

"Who cares? We got it done already, don't make a fuss out of it. Or is it because you wanted to see Misa-chan the whole time?" Dazai asked.

"Shut up, don't bring her into this conversation." Chuuya huffed.

"We'll while you continue to complain. I'm going to say hi to her real quick. Don't worry, you can be next. Oh would you look at that, she's wearing your hat. Hi, Misa-chan!" Dazai cheered.

He ran up to the girl and gave her a large hug. "Did you miss me?" He patted her head.

Chuuya didn't move and inch. As Dazai continued to talk with Misaki a little longer, he waited in the distance for him to leave. Dazai continued to pinch her cheeks and pat her head. She didn't seem bothered by, but use to it. But Chuuya could only pay attention to the hat that was on her head. She looked cute in it, he couldn't deny that. He was quite happy to finally come back and see her in his hat just like he wanted. It pleased him.

"Well, I'll give the two of you some alone time. You've probably been dying to see him this whole time. Don't worry, the feeling is mutual between the two of you." Dazai said before skipping away. "I'll see you on the morning lovebirds." He teased.

Misaki's face was completely red right about now. She tipped the hat downwards covering her face. But she suddenly felt it being left up and a hand on her chin. "Don't hide your blush, it looks cute." He said.

Misaki's face became even more red that it was. She too her hand and turned it into a fist before punching Chuuya in the stomach. He dropped his hand from her chin to his stomach and groaned in pain. "I do what I want." She said, tipping the hat downwards again.

Chuuya scoffed before standing up straight and smiling at the girl. "But you do look cute. And it's nice seeing you wear my hat. It looks good on you." He smiled.

Misaki looked up at the boys head before looking down at the floor. "Close you eyes." She said.

"Huh? Ok." He said. Chuuya was a bit confused, be followed anyways. He suddenly felt something on top of his head.

"You can open now." He herd her say. He opened his eyes. She was looking down at the floor, still blushing. But she wasn't wearing the hat anymore. He assumed she put it on him. It made his heart flutter for some reason. "You told my I look cute in that hat. But I think you look cuter wearing it. It suits you." She blushed. Chuuya's heart went from a small flutter to beating rapidly and his face turning completely red.

Did she just flirt?
She flirted.
She flirted back.

"Thanks." Chuuya muttered. Now both of their faces were as red as a tomato. "I was wondering, do you want to watch a movie with me in my office? Just the two of us? Like a small date?"

Did he just ask her out on a date?
A date?

She felt her heart suddenly fluttering. She never been on a date. She's never experienced any of what she's feeling right now. She would love some of Odasaku's advice right about now.

Odasaku.

"Life is short kid, find what makes you happy and cherish those moments."

Maybe the man was right. Instead of looking down all the time, she should start looking up. Life sucks, no doubt about that, but there's more happy things about the world than there is bad. And maybe that key she needed to find was standing right in front of her.

"Look, you don't need to of you want. I already planned to just watch something by myself. I was just wondering if you wanted to join. You don't have to if it makes you uncomfortable-"

"Sure." Misaki interrupted. "That sounds nice." She mumbled.

Chuuya didn't actually think she'd agree. He was prepared to be rejected, but asked anyways. Maybe Dazai was getting into his head. Just think of Dazai pissed him off.

"Eh?"

Misaki looked at him a bit confused. He looked completely shocked by her answer. She let out a small giggle, not realizing the sound she just made had Chuuya's heart beating even faster. That was his first time ever hearing something like that come out of her. He loved it.

"You're as a big of an idiot as Dazai, aren't you?" She teased.

"Hell no! I'm nothing like that bastard!" Chuuya shouted.

"I don't know, you both seem to have the same amount of brain cells." Misaki said.

"I have to disagree with you right there. He tried committing suicide about three times while we were gone. He's probably it lost more." Chuuya said.

"Yeah, but I assume all that screaming of yours wastes just as much." She teased.

"You're just as much of a tease as him, aren't you." Chuuya growled.

"Not really." She said. "Now, about that movie." Misaki blushed.

Chuuya smiled at her. She really was the cutest thing he had ever seen. He grabbed a hold of her hand and started making their way to his office. He could feel her hand warming up and trembling slightly. He didn't even need to look to see how red she was, he already knew. And he was proud of himself for it.

The two turned the corner and made it into his office. "Cocky bastard." Dazai muttered as he watched the two leave.

He had heard the whole conversation. Would they get angry if they found out about it? Yes. But he wasn't planning to tell them. But it did satisfy him to see the Misaki punch Chuuya. His favorite scene to watch.

But what stuck to him the most was the sound of music coming from Misaki. Not only had it been Chuuya's first time hearing Misaki laugh, but also Dazai's. Though it was the small bit of change, he was still quite happy with it. It was at this point Dazai already knew that Chuuya was the key to make her happy. And as much as he hated for it to be Chuuya, he didn't care all that much. Dazai could hate Chuuya forever if it happens to be so, but of Misaki was happy with him, then he was happy.

"If only Odasaku were here to listens to that sound. The sound of hope."
