Misaki.
~
Misaki made sure that each of the kids had fallen asleep and put them in their separate beds. After placing the last one on their bed, she smiled down and patted their head, moving their hair to the side.
She walked back to the main room and started cleaning up after them. When finished, she picked up the birthday cards they had made for her and walked outside. She didn't even realize how dark it had gotten. She just hoped Chuuya hadn't been waiting too long.
As she walked back to the Port Mafia, she read each of the letters over and over again. They were sweet. A small smile plastered over her face as she read through them.
Once reaching to Port Mafia, she walked into the elevator and waited for it to reach the roof. For some reason, the closer she got, the more anxious she was. Why was she so nervous to see him?
The elevator soon stopped. She walked out and walked up the last few steps. Opening the door to the roof, she was met with Chuuya holding up a rose to her. Yup, he was completely mesmerizing.
She walked up closer and grabbed the rose from him, planting a small kiss in his cheek. "Thank you." She said. "I hope you weren't waiting long."
"No, not at all. Did you have fun hanging out with the little monsters?" He asked.
Misaki shook her head and scoffed. "Yes, it was nice being around them."
"I'm assuming you're not that hungry." Chuuya said.
Misaki shook her head. "No, I had a bit of curry while I was over there." She said.
"That's what I thought." He said. He sat down on the floor and pulled out a box. He patted on a spot in front of him, motioning for Misaki to sit down. "Close your eyes." He said.
She sat down and closed her eyes, only hearing the sounds of Chuuya moving around. "You can open now." He said.
Opening her eyes, she was met with a small cake and a few lit candles. She couldn't help but give a small smile. "Make a wish." Chuuya smiled.
Just as she was about to blow the candles, she realized she didn't know what to wish for. She sat back for a bit and watched the fire from the candles dance around. "For the past few years, I've made the same with over and over again. But that wish never came. But now that I have what I always wanted, I can't seem to think of what I want." She said.
"What did you always wish for?" Chuuya asked.
"To be happy." She answered. "And I've never been so happy. It's a feeling that I had years ago, but now it feels so foreigner. But I still love it." She said.
"You're happy now?" Chuuya asked.
Misaki nodded her head. "I finally got to spend a birthday with the people that I care about. I don't feel the need to close myself off anymore. I like spending time with everyone. And it's something that I wish I had done the past few years."
The two watched the fire dance a little longer until the wind blew them out. The smell of the smoke filling up their nostrils. "Doesn't seem like you need a wish then." Chuuya smiled.
Misaki shook her head. "I have everything I want right here." She grinned.
She looked back at Chuuya, she could see how nervous he was at that moment. His smile had disappeared, and he looked anxious. "Are you alright?" She asked.
He let out a small sigh, then reached over for his backpack and took out the gift, placing it in her hands. Her eyes widened, and her hands started to shake.
