"Another job? Didn't you just finish one just not long ago?" Misaki asked. The two were in her office. Misaki sitting in her desk reading a book while Dazai sat in the seat in front of her
"Yeah. Mori-san had been trying to assign me for jobs recently. I assume it's because he hasn't made my pills yet. But I also think it's because he wanted me to get away from you for a bit." Dazai said.
"Why would he do something like that?" Misaki asked.
"Because he also probably sees a connection between you and Chuuya." Dazai teased. He could see the sudden tint of red across her cheeks. He couldn't be more proud of himself. "He isn't wrong. You both have definitely gotten closer lately. But you still don't want to admit that you like him."
Her head hung low, Dazai could tell she was being hesitant. He knew why, but her still bothered trying to ask. "Do you like Chuuya?" Dazai asked.
Misaki tightens her fist on the book. "Yes." She said.
Dazai gave her a little smirk. "Glad to finally hear you say it. It's quite satisfying actually."
"Don't tell Chuuya, please." Misaki begged.
"Why? You both obviously like each other." Dazai said.
"Because I'm still cautious about whether or not I want to be with him." She said. "Odasaku finally changed my perspective on why I should do, but I'm still so scared. I don't want to lose him if he ends up being so important to me."
Dazai stood up from the desk and walked around to her, then putting his hand in her head. "You need to ignore all the negatives. Odasaku's right, life is absolute crap. But it's also pretty amazing."
"Is that why you always have so much trouble trying to end your own life?" She asked.
"Probably, maybe I'm being punished by continuing to live." Dazai said.
"No wonder you still haven't gotten those pill. Now take your hand off my head please." She demanded.
He removed his hand and neared down in front of her. Taking the book away and putting it on the desk. "Give it a shot. There's a bigger chance of this working out the it is not." He said.
Misaki looked down at her hands. "You do realize it won't last long either way? My birthday is coming up." Misaki said.
"I know that. And like every birthday, you're going to try and ignore it by hiding yourself." Dazai said. "Can we change it up this year, and celebrate instead of mourn?" He asked.
"I'll have to think about it." She muttered.
"Don't think I'm trying to force you. If I don't get a response by then, it's understandable. But I want you to be with us that day." He encouraged.
"I'm bored." Misaki stated.
Dazai smiled. "Well I have a job to do. But try asking Chuuya. After all, this is probably what Mori-san wanted." Dazai teased. "I'll see you later. Go check on Chuuya, because I'm not."
~
"Come in." Chuuya called out.
He heard the door open, but no sound was made by the person. Confused, he looked up only to find Misaki standing there. One hand behind her back and the other scratching the back of her neck. "Hi." Chuuya said.
"I'm bored." She said.
Chuuya looked at the girl. He could see the bit of blush across her cheeks. He couldn't help but smile at the girl. "It's pretty hot outside, how about we go get some ice cream? And maybe go to the beach afterwards?" Chuuy suggested. He stood up from his seat and walked of to the girl. He grabbed her hand and started leading the way.
Misaki looked down at both the hands being connected. Her heart beating like crazy. Chuuya could suddenly feel her hand tighten around his, giving himself a smile in satisfaction.
~
After finishing their ice cream, the two walked over to the beach and sat on the sand. It was pretty quiet between the two. Chuuya wasn't sure as to what to do. He's never had a girlfriend before. Heck, he's never felt this way about anyone before.
"D-do you want my jacket?" He stuttered.
"I'm good." Misaki said
"Though so." Chuuya said, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck.
"Thank you." Misaki said. Chuuya turned to the girl a bit confused. "For brining me out today. It was nice." She blushed.
Chuuya couldn't help but smile. "Well it was because of how cute you look when you're blushing. I couldn't say no to that." He flirted.
"I hate when you make me blush." She said.
"Well I'm going to keep doing it. I enjoy seeing you like that." Chuuya smiled. He looked down at both their hands. They were rather close to each other. He wanted to just inch it closer, but was too awkward to do so. "The last time we were at a beach, I got stabbed. I had been betrayed and backstabbed. And stabbed as well."
Misaki chuckled, and looked up at the boy. He was looking at the ocean, a bit of blush showing across his face. She loved the view of what she was seeing. She badly wanted to take a picture.
"I though that I would end up dying while trying to hide from them. But then you suddenly appeared." He said, a small smile on his face. "I remember letting out you ponytail and watching you long hair fall down. I thought you looked so beautiful kneeling down there in front of me. I can never stop thinking about that moment."
Misaki grabbed onto her ponytail. She remembered that moment very clearly. It was there that she realized her feelings for the young boy. She smiled at the memory.
"I still think you're so beautiful." He complimented. "It never seizes to amaze me how amazing of a girl you are. You really are an quite incredible."
Misaki's face was completely red by now. Though she tried to hide her face, Chuuya could still see her red ears sticking out of her hair. He gave a small smile, then gently took her chin to face him. He only looked down at her lips. Oh how he wanted to kiss those lips. But being the awkward idiot he was, he instead took his hat and out it on her.
Misaki gladly took the hat and covered her face with it, wanting to completely hide herself. But she suddenly felt his hand on top of hers.
The two didn't say anything after that. It was just completely silent as they held each other's hand. Chuuya rubbing his thumb on her back of her hand. It comforted her. She hadn't felt this way in a long time.
But it wouldn't be long till that comfort would disappear, and she'd question herself whether or not she actually wanted to be happy with Chuuya.
Hope you enjoyed. Have a good day.
Bye :)
