"This is hopeless." Mori whined. Dazai continued to stir something in a random glass, listening to whatever Mori had to say. "Our weapon smugglers are two weeks behind schedule. Our men our going to be fighting with kitchen knives at this rate, and that's not all. With the escalating violence, we're losing contexts for our protection." He continued.
Misaki tried her best to hide the sound of the glass and Mori's voice, but was only more curious to what Dazai was doing. "Maybe we just aren't cut out for this. What do you think, Dazai-kun, Misaki-kun?" He asked.
Dazai stopped with the clinging, then turning to Mori. "Oh come on, Mori-san...not having money, or having intel, not having the trust of your subordinates... You knew that from the beginning didn't you." Dazai said, continuing with the clinging of the glass.
"You're so mean. Say, why are you mixing hypertension medication with hypotension medication?" Mori asked.
"That's what I'm curious about." Misaki admitted. She held onto one of her arrows and played around with the sharp tip. Poking her thump deep into the sharp point, but not hard enough to cut herself.
"I thought taking them together might've been a comfortable way to die." Dazai answered.
"You really are an idiot." Misaki scoffed.
"Dazai-kun, Misaki-kun, you we're both there when I inherited the bosses seat. You both are a witness for his will. I can't have you both dying so willy-nilly. Specifically you, Dazai-kun." Mori said.
The two friends thought back to their memories of what happened. It was all so clear to the two. Misaki didn't much care about what had happened. But she knew that Mori would be keeping a closer eye on her and Dazai, since they were the ones to witness what actually happened. And who knows, if she did end up confessing the truth, Mori would have probably sent someone to go kill her.
"You made an error in judgment." Dazai said. Misaki was brought back to life, and listened to why Dazai had to say. "It was smart of you to choose someone who attempts suicide, and then someone who could care less about what happens to the Port Mafia as your accomplice, but here I am a year later, alive." Dazai said.
"And here I am, still not caring." Misaki muttered.
"I made an error. You and I were successful in our mission together."
"The mission isn't complete until those who were involved in the assassination are silenced. To that end, the two of us were the perfect accomplice. If I ended my life in a suicide of unknown motivation, after you became the boss thanks to our testimony, no one would suspect a thing." Dazai said. But everything Misaki heard sounded more like a threat.
Mori could only smile at the two. "You really remind me of someone." Dazai turned to him confused. "If I was going to silence you, I would have done it long ago. If you really want, I can prepare something that'll end your life comfortably." Mori offered.
"Really?" Dazai asked with excitement.
"In exchange, I want to ask the two of you to do a quick investigation. It's not a big deal. There's no danger involved." Mori said.
"Sounds so sketchy." Dazai muttered. Misaki hummed in response.
"I trust you to know about Suribachi City in the Yokohama settlement. There's a rumor going around that a certain individual has emerged in that area. I want you both to investigate that rumor." Mori explained. He then pulled out a paper, showing it off to the two. "This contract is a delegation of authority. They call it the "Silver Oracle." Show this to any Port Mafia member and they'll do anything you ask them."
