A/N: Hello, my loves. In light of the heartbreaking news of Helen's passing, I wanted to write a little something to hopefully help ease the pain. I wanted to thank Major_Daddy_Issues_ for allowing me to base this off of their one shot. Please go read theirs; it's amazing. Also, my messages are always a safe space if you ever need to talk. All my love <3 *side note: in this one shot, the story is the same as the HP plot just in current times*

Dalania's hips swayed side to side as she moved to the music, singing her heart out at the same time. It was almost like a ritual for her, to sing, dance, and bake all at once. She was about done making the cookies, stirring in the chocolate chips last and double checking that she added a little more than the recipe called for, when Yellow by Coldplay filled the kitchen. Her eyes watered a tiny bit as the song brought back memories of the love of her life, but she sang along anyway. It slowly came to an end as she leaned against the counter.

"You still have the most beautiful voice." Dalania froze at the voice that came from behind her. She knew that voice; it was one she had longed to hear for just shy of a year. She spun around quickly.

"Cissa? Is that really you?" she asked in an almost inaudible whisper. Tears slipped down her cheeks when the woman nodded with the biggest, most beautiful smile she had ever seen. Without hesitation, Dalania moved from the counter and threw herself in Narcissa's arms. She inhaled her gentle, yet bold, sweet vanilla and floral scent and instantly relaxed knowing she had her Cissa back in her arms.

The pair stayed locked in their embrace for almost as long as they'd been apart. The shorter brunette had secured her arms around the taller brunette and blonde haired woman's waist while the latter had wrapped her arms around the former's neck, allowing her to bury her face against her chest. They fit together just as they always had: perfectly.

"I missed you, my sweet girl," Narcissa whispered as she pulled away to cup Dalania's face in her hands. She wiped away the shorter woman's tears with her thumbs, continuing to caress her cheeks even after her tears and dried.

"I missed you too, Cissa." After watching each other for a few moments longer, the women leaned in and connected their lips in a kiss full of love and longing. They moved in unison, tilting their heads and running their fingers through the others hair, almost desperate to show the other how much they had truly missed them. Dalania was the first to pull away this time but was still close enough to speak against Narcissa's lips. "You came back," she whimpered.

"I promised you I would, and I always keep my promises," the taller woman replied. "And now that I have you back, I'm never letting you out of my sight again." Dalania giggled and pressed what was meant to be a chaste kiss to her lips but was quickly turned into a much deeper one.

"Did you hear that?" Narcissa nodded. "That is the sound of the oven waiting for cookies to be put in it." The taller woman's eyes lit up in an almost child-like manner.

"You're making cookies?" she asked.

"Mhm," Dalania hummed. "With extra chocolate chips. Just the way you like them."

"You remembered?" The brunette took Narcissa's face in her hands.

"Of course I remembered, baby. It's the only way I make them now," she whispered. She stood up on her toes to press a kiss to her love's forehead before grabbing her hand to pull her into the kitchen. She lifted the woman up into the counter in one swift movement and stood between her legs. Narcissa couldn't help but wrap a hand around the young woman's chin and peppered her face with kisses. Dalania laughed.

"Merlin, I love that sound..." Narcissa mused. "...and I love you, Dalania."

"I love you more, Narcissa." The woman perched on the counter shook her head as she spoke.

"Not possible."

"Whatever you say, Cissa." Dalania grabbed a spoon from a drawer and scooped up a bit of the freshly made cookie dough. "Now, taste. I want to make sure they're still up to your standard."

"Anything you make is perfect, sweet girl, you know that," Narcissa said as she took the spoon from her. She ate the dough, smiling and closing her eyes as the perfect harmony of flavors met her tongue.

"So... what do you think?"

"Like I said, perfect." Narcissa then leaned down and kissed her once more, allowing the baker to taste it herself. She pulled away with her sly smirk. "See?" Dalania nodded.

"Okay, enough playing. I have cookies to finish baking and then you're going to spend the rest of the day in my arms," she ordered. Narcissa laughed at her sudden seriousness but sat back to let her do her thing anyway.

The older woman couldn't help but admire her girlfriend as she watched her bake. She always fell into her own little world, and it was mesmerizing to watch. A smile rested on her lips, and Narcissa could feel herself falling more and more in love every time she looked at her. There were no words for how much she adored the young woman before her.

"Cissa?" Narcissa was pulled from her thoughts by the sound of Dalania's voice. She had been spaced out for so long that she didn't even see her pull the last pan of cookies out of the oven. "Are you alright?"

"I'm more than alright, sweet girl, I'm with you," she cooed, taking her hand and lacing their fingers together. Dalania's concerned expression immediately melted into a warm smile.

"You gotta stop doing that," she laughed.

"Doing what?"

"Saying things that make me want to kiss you."

"Well, why don't you?" Narcissa inquired as she leaned in slightly. Dalania leaned in as well but drew away at the last second, making the older woman pout.

"Because there's a couch calling our names and a stack of books to be read waiting beside it," she answered. Narcissa giggled, a sound that was music to Dalania's ears, and followed her into the living room where they collapsed onto the couch in heap of tickles, kisses, and giggles.

They spent the next few hours so wrapped up in each other that they hadn't noticed the sun go down or the clock strike midnight. All was well in their little corner of the world. After laying in a comfortable silence for some time, Dalania picked her head up from its resting place on Narcissa's chest. Narcissa continued to tangle her fingers through the young woman's hair.

"Cissa?"

"Hmm?"

"Promise you'll never leave me again?"

"I promise, Dalania. You are the light of my life, and I couldn't imagine being apart from you again. My heart broke every day when I woke up without you by my side, and now that I'm here with you, I never plan on feeling that way again. I love you, my sweet girl." Dalania looked up at Narcissa as her eyes filled with tears. She lifted herself up, kissed her, and left her lips rested against Narcissa's as she whispered.

"I love you too, Narcissa. Forever and always."
