TW: Death of a loved one

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The women walked up to the window, their hearts dropping when they saw Nick Fury being operated on through the glass.
"Is he going to make it?" the redhead asked, a hint of fear running through her voice.
"I don't know," replied the man beside them. Jacqueline turned to face him and recognized him as Steve Rodgers.
"He's fast and strong. Had a metal arm."
Approaching footsteps from her left drew the black-haired woman's attention. She turned to find Maria Hill, a fellow agent, joining them.
"Ballistics?" Natasha asked as a quiet sniffle escaped her. Jacqueline couldn't help but feel her heart break just a bit more. She knew how much Nick meant to the woman, and she couldn't stand to see how much pain she was in because of this.
"Three slugs, no rifling," Maria answered. Before she could finish, the other agent continued.
"Which means they're completely untraceable," she sighed.
"That is correct, Agent Mills."
"And Soviet-made," Natasha added. She turned to look up at the woman beside her before her attention was drawn back to the window by the nurse's voice.
"He's in V-tach."
"Crash cart coming in."
"Nurse, help ne with the drape.
"BP is dropping."
"Defibrillator!"
The four watched as the medical team rushed around the O.R. doing what they could in an attempt to save the man on the table. The indistinguishable sound of the heart rate monitor flatlining cut through all the chaos.
"Don't do this to me, Nick." Jacqueline could only just hear the redhead's whisper, but it enough for her to wrap an arm around her waist and pull her into her side. Natasha took the invitation and leaned her head against her shoulder, still not taking her eyes off the man she knew as her father.
"Stand back! Three, two, one. Clear!" the doctor yelled. A shock was delivered to Fury's chest, and they all waited with bated breath as the nurses checked his pulse. "Pulse?"
"No pulse."
"No pulse."
"Okay. 200, please. Stand back! Three, two, one. Clear!" Once again, the defibrillator went off and delivered a shock to the man. "Give me epinephrine! Pulse?"
They all waited once more as the nurse checked Fury's pulse.
"Negative," he sighed.
"Don't do this to me, Nick. Don't do this to me," she repeated. Jacqueline couldn't help but choke back a sob as she listened to her girlfriend plead for him to come back. It was obvious by the doctor's rushed movements and monitor's continued beeping that Fury wasn't getting any better. Soon enough, the doctor was ready call his time of death. Agent Mills noticed Steve turn away and hugged Natasha to her chest in an attempt to keep her from seeing.
"What's the time?" the doctor asked.
"1:03, Doctor," a nurse replied.
"Time of death, 1:03 a.m."
