It's summer. It's hot. It's sweaty. Minnie hates all of it. She prefers winter over this godforsaken season. Winter is a time where you're constantly snuggled up in a blanket or with someone. Preferably Olivia.

Alright, enough of that. Back to summer.

Minnie was unsure of how she wanted to spend her day. Since her AC is out in her apartment, that is the absolute last place she wants to be right now. Recently, she's been staying at Olivia's, which she always is, but more frequently due to the horrendous heat that makes Antarctica look like a fucking vacation compared to her bedroom. Olivia had given her a key a while back.

So that's where she ends up. At Olivia's. Where the AC works, thank fucking God. It also happens to be where the dialogue FINALLY comes in.

"Liv, I'm telling you, it's so fucking hot in there I can't even think" Minnie lets out a loud sigh of relief as she plopped down on Olivia's couch.

"Please, like you ever stop thinking. I can see the gears turning in your head sometimes." Olivia said from the kitchen.

"Pfft, when?"

"All the time, but especially when you help me write." Olivia called from the kitchen, her voice growing louder as she gets closer.

"Really?" Minnie thought aloud.

Olivia emerges from the kitchen, and Minnie's face brightens at the sight of her favorite person. In Olivia's hands holds two cups, one for each of the girls.

Olivia passed Minnie her usual, lemon tea. She seats herself next to Minnie on the couch as Minnie instinctively shifts to lay her legs on Olivia's lap.

"Thank you, darling." Minnie feigns an English accent, a pretty damn good one at that.

Olivia lets out a chuckle before taking a sip of her tea.

"So what are we doing today?" Olivia asks as she looks over at Minnie.

"We are..." she pauses.

Minnie reaches for the remote on the coffee table and places her cup down in exchange.

"...going to watch American Horror Story" Minnie's lips pull into a smirk.

"Oh-ho no no no, you know I don't like scary shit." Olivia places her cup on the coffee table and looks at Minnie.

"Liv, It's not even that scaryyyyyy, and it's so good. I promise you're gonna be hooked before the end of the first 10 minutes." Minnie vouched for her favorite show, the remote now wedged between her desperately placed praying hands, a pleading look on her face.

"It has horror in the title." Olivia half-laughs.

"Okay, yeah, you got me there, but the storylines are su-fucking-perior." Minnie refuses to give up as she opens the Netflix app on the TV.

Minnie clicks on the scary cover, as the remote hovers over "Play Season 1: Episode 1." All she had to do is click. She looked to Olivia, hopefully.

Olivia smiles as she playfully rolls her eyes. She lets out a loud sigh.

"Alright, alright, play it."

"You won't regret this!" Minnie cheers, causing a laugh from Olivia, as she excitedly clicks on the button, and the girls naturally move closer together in comfort.

The light outside is fully faded and the girls are now nearly to the end of the first season, their eyes wide as they watch the scene unfold in front of them, clutching their shared blanket in awe.

"She's been dead the whole time?!" Olivia expresses in shock.

"I know right! That shit fucked me up." Minnie reaches for another piece of popcorn before Olivia slaps her arm.

"Ow, what was that for?!" Minnie looks from her arm to Olivia.

"Why didn't you tell me?!" Olivia inquires, half-joking half not.

"I wasn't gonna spoil it!"

"Min you spoil everything, even when you don't mean to!" Olivia laughs at the end of her outrage.

Olivia stops in realization.

"You're right, it is good."

"Hahaaaa I fucking told you so." Minnie laughs and fist pumps in the air in victory.

"I did that." Minnie concluded proudly, calming down from her momentary victory.

"Yes, babe you did," Olivia says nonchalantly

Babe? Minnie? Minnie is babe? Since when?

It's safe to say the butterflies in Minnie's stomach were so severe that they nearly made an appearance all over the couch. She was sure that her heartbeat was so rapid that her heart would simply leap out of her chest if she dares to speak another word.

Instead of verbally responding, because she's deathly afraid of the shit that'll come from her mouth, she responds in the best way she knows how. I mean, her love language is physical attention, what else did you want from her?

She repositions herself on the couch to where her head rests on the lap that belongs to the girl she loves. At this action, Olivia moves her leg to sit in an L and pulls the blanket up to cover both of their bodies. Once, they get settled, their full attention is swiftly back on the TV.

Well, almost all of their attention. Minnie's head was churning, the so-called gears nearly melting as she couldn't get her mind off the 4 letter title her best friend held above her head just moments before. Just as she thinks she's about to spontaneously combust, Olivia begins gently combing her fingers through Minnie's hair. Immediately, the fires that were melting at her brain had been completely extinguished. She leaned into Olivia's touch, sighing in comfort at the action.  Something Olivia hasn't done in a while, in fact, this whole day was something they haven't done in a while. Staying over at Olivia's house for the whole duration of the day was something she would usually avoid, because of Josh. Yeah, that guy. He hasn't come over once today and Minnie can't help but think there must be something off. Usually, he would come by, and she would make up an overused excuse so she could get out of that atmosphere. It was simply too much for her heart, plus, the last thing she wants to be is the third wheel.

Minnie wants to ask. She knows it's the right thing to do, she knows there could be something going on that Olivia isn't telling her about. Or maybe she didn't mention it because it's not a big deal? No, they tell each other everything, it wouldn't make sense for her to keep anything from her.

Minnie knows for a fact there's something off, and she wants to ask, she does. But the moment, it would be ruined. She doesn't get nearly the amount of Olivia time that she used to. She knows it's selfish to avoid it until morning, but sometimes it's okay to be selfish. She's suffered long enough to know that she needs these moments to herself, just for a bit. And in the morning, she'll comfort her closest companion just as she's doing for her right now.

Yeah, in the morning.
