chapter 14
✈️. *. ⋆🌃. *. ⋆☁️ ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
THE CHILLY NIGHT AIR nipped at Sero's cheeks, causing his nose to go pink. He breathed in, feeling the cool air enter his body and circulate throughout, relieving all the tension in his body.
The door to the balcony creaked open, y/n ambling through with a couple water bottles cupped in her arms. She took a seat next to Sero, who was laid out on the carpet that was, conveniently, already there.
"Here, drink this," she said quietly, handing him an unopened bottle of water and laying beside him. Sero took the bottle, humming a quick thanks before taking a slow sip, sitting up on his elbows and tilting his head back.
It was quiet except for the muffled sound of music pumping in the background. It was getting late, but the eager college students were still high in spirits, wrecking themselves before they can experience the hells of finals week.
After draining himself of all his energy, Sero finally calmed down, which is why he was a lot more quiet now. y/n didn't mind it though, she liked it.
She liked laying there, on there backs as their eyes scanned the starry sky. She liked the comfortable silence between them as they mulled over the previous events of their lively night. She liked the way her heartbeat slowed, but quickened whenever she realized who was laying so close beside her. She liked so many things in that moment that she couldn't even name them all; she could only bask in the feeling for as long as it lasted.
"y/n?"
"Hm?"
"Why did you want to fake a relationship?" He asked, still gazing at the differentiating blue hues of the sky.
y/n looked at him, getting lost in his features a bit before he averted his gaze to her, their eyes meeting.
"I guess it was like you said: I wasn't completely over him, so seeing him with a new girl only weeks after we broke up... hurt, I'm not gonna lie," she said thoughtfully, cringing at her own words.
