Aizawa Shouta & Yamada Hizashi (not a ship)

Worried partner (Aizawa)

A/N: A bit of manga spoilers I guess, losing the leg and all that. The reader is married to Aizawa and they've adopted Eri.

You were curled up on the couch next to your husband and a thought popped into your head. Well it didn't really just appear, you more so got the courage to finally put your thoughts into words.

"Do you ever wonder what it would've been like if you had never become a pro-hero? What would it be like to be just Aizawa Shouta and not Eraserhead as well" you asked.

"Where is this coming from?" he asked, not annoyed at you but honestly just curious.

"You've lost so much because of your job, and even though I know you love those kids like they're your own, you just have to know when to stop"

"I know you're worried about me, but I'm doing what I love and I'll always come back to you, even if it isn't in one piece" he said with a smirk and tapped his prosthetic leg.

"That's not funny. Every time you leave the campus, every time you go on some mission, I'm so scared I'm never gonna see you again"

"But I always come back, and I always will" he looked at you softly, but you could also see the sadness in his eyes.

Aizawa didn't really know what to say to you, he knew he couldn't honestly promise you that he would always come back. That's just how his job was, being a teacher and a pro-hero.

"Dad?" Aizawa heard a sleepy Eri say from behind the couch.

"You're supposed to be asleep little miss" Aizawa said and lifted her to sit between you and him.

"I had a bad dream" Eri said. "Can I sleep in your bed?"

You and Aizawa looked at each other and just shrugged.

"Of course darling" you said and kissed the top of her head.

You picked up Eri and started carrying her to the bedroom.

"We're not done talking about this" you whispered to your husband.

You put Eri down on the bed and tucked her in. You knew that by the time you and Shouta got to bed, he would be sprawled out like a little starfish and would have kicked the covers off.

"Are you mad at dad?" Eri asked.

"No, I'm just worried about him"

Eri seemed to think about what you said for a moment, but came to the conclusion it was a satisfactory answer.

"Good night" she said and yawned.

"Good night darling" you said and watched as she closed her eyes.

You sat on the edge of the bed until you were sure she had fallen asleep and then you sneaked back to the living room.

"Where were-" you started but stopped when you noticed Shouta laying on the couch.

At first you thought he had passed out, but after getting a better look and checking his pulse and breathing, you realized he had just fallen asleep. You grabbed a blanket and covered him with it. The conversation wasn't over, but you decided it would be better to let him sleep for now.
