The dinner with Lucas' family starts in about an hour and a half. Lucas showed up twenty minutes ago already ready to go wearing dress pants, a dress shirt with a blazer and a skinny tie. He looked like he should be going to a photo shoot, not a dinner with his family. I was half expecting a sweater vest.

"What do you think about this one?" I held up the red dress in front of me. "Oh my god, why do you even own that?" He scrunched his face up. "Because I like it!" I put it back in my closet. "When's the last time you wore it?" He asked as I looked for another dress. "I don't know." I grumbled as I pulled out another dress. "What about this?" I held up a forest green dress that my mom got me from a thrift store that I didn't particularly like. "Maybe if you were fifty years old and going to your child's wedding. Just maybe." I sighed and put it back.

"Can I just wear like, jeans and a nice shirt or something?" I sat next to him on my bed giving up on the search for the right dress. "There is no way in hell you get to wear jeans if I'm wearing dress pants." He gets up and goes to my closet. He picks around a little and grabs one of Lauren's I had in there that she left before. I purposely didn't show him because it's not even an option.

"Not that one!" I jump and grab it from him as if looking at it will ruin it. "What? Why not?" He put his hands up and looked at me funny. "It's Lauren's. She'd freak if she knew anything happened to it." I go to hang it back up but he stops me. "Then what she doesn't know won't hurt her." He grabs it again and holds it in front of me. "Its really your best and only option from what I saw." I roll my eyes.

"But she paid four hundred dollars for it, she'd be pissed if anything happened to it." I tell him. "When's the last time she wore it?" He asked. "I'm pretty sure it was end of junior year when we went out to the coast to her grandparent's vacation house." I thought back to when she asked if I could put it in my suitcase because her's was already cramped and she didn't want to ruin it. "Alright well, think of it this way." He sat on the bed next to me and held it out for me. "She didn't pay four hundred dollars for it to sit around in a closet, not being worn for over six months."

...

Lucas and I arrived at the restaurant just before five. We walked in holding hands, without our fingers threaded together. There was one long table by the window on the other side of the dinning room, and the rest were smaller tables. The long table was where we'd be going so I followed as we walked to it.

He introduced me to his family as his girlfriend which made them very pleased. Apparently, his grandmother said, they had their suspicions about him for a while but now they're glad to know he's in fact straight. I didn't say anything but I smiled politely, Lucas however rolled his eyes and scoffed.

We ended up sitting near the end across from his sister. She was being nice but I knew she was confused about the whole situation by the look on her face.

"Can you take a picture of us?" He asked her. "Yeah sure." He handed her his phone and scooted close to me. "What should we do?" He asked. "You could make it look like you're kissing my cheek or something but so it looks like it wasn't planned." I suggested. He nodded so we tried it. It looked decent.

"Okay now a normal one." He said. We both smiled as she took it. The rest of the family was pretty oblivious to what we were doing.

"Do you think I should post it on Instagram?" I asked him as I looked at the picture of him kissing my cheek. He leaned closer to me to look at them. "Does Harry follow you?" He asked. "Yes." I answer. "Then yeah, do it." So I did.

By the time our food came the picture had eighteen likes and a couple comments asking if we were together or telling us we were "sooo cute!!" I checked it again after we ate and noticed Harry liked it. I internally screamed and showed Lucas. I wonder why he liked it. I only meant for him to see it and hopefully get jealous, I didn't think he'd like it.
