"No not again, not now...." Tears began flowing from your eyes.
"JUST WAIT TILL I GET MY HANDS ON YOU, YOU FILTHY LITTLE GIRL!"
All the bad memories suddenly filled your mind as from your father who was quickly coming closer. You sat frozen on the bench while gripping it firmly until your knuckles turned white. You suddenly felt a hand grab your wrist and started pulling.
"Yah! _____ this way!" Lay declared. Dropping everything, you ran with lay; no matter how tired you both started to become you still continued with all your strength. You both ran for about 7 minutes until you reached a safe zone: a small, quiet and isolated area that contained only grass and a few flowers. You finally caught your breathe and slowly slumped to the ground, lay stood bending over with his hands on his knees breathing heavily.
"Phew! *pants* We lost him...He runs fast for an old man, huh?" Lay chuckled as he lifted his gaze to you. His smile faded as he saw you hugging your knees as you wept uncontrollably.
"Oh my...." He hesitantly walked over and sat beside you "Do you want to talk about it?"You shook your head and continued to cry.
Lays facial expressions became more soft and filled with sympathy. Instead of talking, he simply wrapped his arms around you and held you tightly. "It's okay, you're okay. I'm here now, let it all out." his chin rested on your head as he stroked your hair.
His sudden action surprised you, without thinking about it, you turned you body to lay and hugged him and cried hysterically. "Shhh, it's okay. He can't hurt you from here." he assured you. For the first time ever you felt as if someone was looking out for you, that someone actually cared about you.All you wanted to do was stay in that moment forever and not go back home or see your poor-excuse of a father ever again. You wanted to be next to Lay. The Lay that helped you escape the madness that has corrupted you for years. The same Lay that brought back the happiness you once felt long ago, even if it lasted for only a few seconds. You've been with him for less than an hour yet he's shown you so many things that have reopened the doors of wonderful memories that had been lost. He was your light at the end of the tunnel. Your hero.
10 minutes later~
"______?" Lay said. Your crying died down to a quiet sob.
"...hm?" You replied.
"Are you alright now?"
"Hmm." you nodded whilst sniffing.
"That's good." He smiled as he held you closer and tightened the hug. You felt more and more relaxed as he held you. The sound of his heartbeat along with the smell of his cologne soothed your body.
~RING RING RING~
"waah!" You both shouted in unison as you both shot up.
"Ahaha, just my alarm!" Lay laughed and you giggled.
You both catch each other's eyes and just stared at each other for at least 5 seconds.
"Thank you Lay..." You said as you looked down.
"You know you can always come to me if you need anything." He held out his hand and lifted your chin to make you face him.
Lay and you finally stood back up and cleaned your selves up. He gave you one more big bear hug before you both made your way to school. The whole way to school you couldn't stop smiling or glancing at Lay. "what?" Lay asked with a smile. "oh, nothing" you replied as you tucked your hair behind your ear.
The sun blazing, a cool breezes swirling in the air and happy bird songs from every direction .
✨A blossoming bud of friendship that will bloom and become something beautiful✨
