***Freed's p.o.v***

I woke up stiffly as I sat up in my chair next to the bed. I rubbed my eyes and let my eyes focus as I gazed at the bed in front of me.

As soon as my vision cleared, I shot up from my seat. I frantically glanced around in a panic before I bolted out of the door of the bedroom.

I practically flew down the stairs as I frantically glanced around, stopping at the sight before me in the kitchen.

Turning to me, she smiled. "Oh! Good morning Freed!" Rachel greeted warmly.

My breath caught in my throat before I bolted over embracing her tightly.

She squeaked in surprise at the gesture.

"Freed are you alright?" She questioned worriedly.

Tears fell from my eyes as I clung to her, no intention of letting her go.

"I thought you left me," I muttered with a light sob.

Her hand came up to my head and stroked my hair. "I would never leave you Freed. I promised, remember?" She whispered softly.

She stopped stroking my hair as she stood up straighter.

"Now c'mon Freed. Let's go enjoy breakfast, ok?" she muttered.

I took a deep shaky breath, collecting myself as I held onto her.

"Freed? Hey Freed?" She questioned when I didn't answer.

I nodded. "Coming," I mumbled.

"Freed? Freed? C'mon man. Freed!"

I gasped, shooting awake with a start. Beads of sweat dripped down my face as I glanced around frantically, before I noticed Laxus's hand on my shoulder as he gazed at me worriedly.

I calmed down a bit immediately as I gazed at him before I hesitantly turned towards the bed in front of me.

Rachel was there, lying peacefully asleep in her own bed. A disappointed sigh left my throat.

'It was only a dream,' I thought upset.

Laxus removed his hand from my shoulder, reminding me he was still here.

"What are you doing in here Laxus?" I questioned sadly.

"I came to check on you both. I would have left you to sleep, but you kept muttering and twitching in your sleep, so I thought I'd wake you. Are you alright?" Laxus asked.

I sighed gazing at Rachel's unconscious form, "I'm fine."

***Laxus's p.o.v***

I turned my gaze to Rachel as well before I turned back to my best friend.

I wasn't oblivious by any means. I could see the heavy bags beneath Freed's eyes and the sag of his usual postured shoulders caused by the undeniable stress of my best friend's worry.

"She'll be alright Freed," I tried to reassure him.

But that's not what Freed wanted to hear.

"It's been a week Laxus," Freed muttered growing irritated.

"She's tough. You know that. She'll make it through," I answered simply.

"But what if she doesn't Laxus," Freed darkened, his bangs covering his eyes.

"She'll be fine," I answered simply.

"Are you even worried?" Freed vexed.

"What? Of course I'm worried. Why in the world would you ask that?" I asked in shock.
