***Evergreen's p.o.v***

Smack. Crash.

I watched Rachel skid back as she fought a shadowy foe.

She was covered in blood and wounds as she relentlessly fought back. I could hear the others call after her, but I couldn't turn my head to see them. I was too transfixed on the battle in front of me.

I couldn't move either. No matter how hard I tried my body wouldn't move, and I really wanted to help her. I could only watch as Rachel fought back against the shadowy figure in this dimly lit dungeon as her magic radiated within the darkness.

She released another attack as the shadowy figure disappeared. Rachel kept herself on guard as she glanced around, her eyes glowing its purple glow within the darkness.

One second the shadowy figure appeared on her right as she attacked, then the next second he's behind her as his sword pierces through her chest as tears cascaded down her cheeks.

"No!" I screamed in agony as I shot up from the bed.

Beads of sweat cascaded down my face as I panted from my spot on the bed.

I threw off the sheets and walked into the bathroom and into the shower as I let the hot water relieve my shaken mind.

Unfortunately though, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get the image of Rachel dying before me out of my head.

***Timeskip***

"Oh! Good morning Evergreen! You're here quite early today," Mira greeted as I took a seat at the bar.

"Yeah... is Rachel here?" I asked her.

"No, not yet. You just missed her usual check-in. She's probably heading to Fairy Hills to walk back with Juvia. She'll arrive soon," Mira responded with a smile.

I nodded absentmindedly.

After several minutes, the guild doors opened once more.

Every time they opened, I turned around hoping it was Rachel, but for the last five times I've been left disappointed.

I really needed to talk to her. Ever since that nightmare, the whole scene has been terrorizing me over and over. I just- really needed to speak with her to ease my own conscience.

I had given up hope by now of Rachel arriving any time soon, at least, until I heard a familiar echo of laughter.

"Bickslow said that?" Juvia gasped amused.

"Yeah, and Laxus sure gave him a good zap for that," Rachel chuckled as the two laughed.

"Rachel's teammates sure are amusing," Juvia chuckled.

Rachel chuckled, "As are yours. After all, aren't you and Gajeel a team?"

Juvia smiled nervously, "Well yes, but Juvia thinks Gajeel is starting to be more of Levy's teammate than Juvia's."

I got up from my seat at the sight of her as I approached the two.

"Don't worry Juvia. I'm sure it will work out. Gajeel's not the type of guy to abandon his friends, and besides, if Gajeel's starting to become a part of Levy's team then maybe you could become a part of Gray's team," Rachel smiled.

Juvia squealed, "Rachel thinks so?"

"I know so," Rachel smiled giving her a thumbs up.

"Um Rachel?" I spoke up as the two turned to me.

"Oh! Good morning Evergreen! What's up?" Rachel asked me.

"Juvia will see Rachel later," Juvia smiled as she waved and left.

Rachel waved back to her before she turned back to me.

"Something up Evergreen?" Rachel questioned to me worriedly.

"Would you like to hang out with me today?" I asked her.

"Yeah sure. Pr-"

"Could– it be just us?" I hesitantly asked her.

She blinked in surprise at me.

"Yeah ok. What do you want to do?" Rachel asked me.

"I- I don't know. I was hoping you would come up with an idea," I replied.

She stared at me for a second before she smiled.

"Ok, let's go to the spa then! Prism! I'm heading out! Stay out of trouble!" Rachel called behind her.

Prism scoffed.

"I mean it Prism!" Rachel called as we left.

Prism blushed.

"And so Juvia was telling me-" Rachel was chatting away as we relaxed in the spa together.

Rachel got us a private bath, so it was just the two of us.

However, I couldn't focus on her conversation. My nightmare kept replaying in my mind.

Rachel suddenly stopped what she was saying as she glanced at me.

"Alright Ever, what's going on?" Rachel said snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Oh- uh- what? Nothing. Nothing's wrong," I smiled nervously.

"Ever, you can't fool me. You never get to the guild before I do and you're not the type to just let me pick anything and everything we do without any interjection. So, what's going on?" She asked me.

I stared down at the water as my hair covered my face.

"I had a nightmare... about you," I muttered.

"You were fighting someone, and you lost," I spoke as I shook.

"I couldn't do anything but watch as you... you-" I hiccupped.

Warm arms wrapped around my shaking body as Rachel trapped me in a comforting hug.

"Evergreen, I'm right here," Rachel said to me.

Tears fell down my cheeks as I bit my lip.

Rachel moved away and placed her hands on my shoulders as I looked up at her.

"What you saw was only a dream, a stupid nightmare. It's not going to happen. After all, I've got you guys, don't I?" She smiled warmly.

I smiled, "Yeah you do."

"Plus, you know I wouldn't go down that easily," Rachel grinned triumphantly.

I chuckled at her.

"Alright, enough moping around. It's a great day. Let's have some fun! Besides, I heard some interesting stories about you and Elfman~" Rachel teased.

I blushed furiously.

"What stories!?! We're not even dating!?" I yelled embarrassed.

"That's not what I heard~" Rachel smirked.

"There's nothing going on!!!"
