***Unknown p.o.v***"Almost there ... 'pant' ... come on ... you can ... 'pant' ... make it," I panted, dragging my bruised and exhausted body. "There." I panted as my house came into view. "Almost-" I pant, getting cut off by a wave of dizziness as I stumble and fall towards the ground.
'No. I was- so close...' I thought as my vision fades.
***Freed's p.o.v***
It's been a while since our last mission with Rachel. The Thunder Legion hasn't gone on a mission since, but Rachel recently went out on a solo mission. She's actually due to come home anytime now. Ever, Bickslow and I are enjoying the pleasant sunset as we wander around the streets of Magnolia. We were chatting casually until Bickslow started arguing with Evergreen about fashion sense.
"I totally have a cooler look than you!" Bickslow shouts.
"Your look is nothing but wild and obnoxious," Evergreen declares.
"It's wild with a sense of style!" Bickslow argues dramatically.
"Even Freed has a better sense of style than you!" Evergreen shouts pointing at me.
"Don't drag me into this," I say putting my hands up in defense.
"Hey, isn't that Rachel. Rachel! Hey!" Bickslow shouts waving to her.
"Well her house is right around here," Evergreen responds.
I glanced more closely at Rachel. She was walking abnormally, almost as if she was stumbling.
"Somethings wrong," I muttered running towards her as the others followed behind me, now worried.
As we ran over, she starts to collapse, but I catch her right before she hits the ground. She had a few bruises on her and she was breathing heavily.
"Quick, let's take her inside," Evergreen says.
I have her lean on me as we take her to her house. 'She's barely conscious. I wonder what happened,' I thought concerned.
Evergreen gets to the door and turns to us. "How are we supposed to get inside?" Evergreen questions.
"...Jacket..."
We glanced down at Rachel.
"...Left .... pocket..." she mutters out.
Evergreen goes over to Rachel and finds a pocket on the inside of her jacket. She pulls out the keys and unlocks the door as I bring Rachel inside.
"Ever, find the first aid. Bickslow, get her some tea," I order as I take her to the couch. The others run off while I gently set her up on the couch. I sit next to her as she takes deep breaths. Evergreen comes over with the first aid kit and sits on the other side of her as she starts to patch up any injuries she can find. Bickslow comes over with some tea and hands it to her. Rachel opens her eyes and takes it from him before Bickslow sits across from her as she takes a sip.
"Sigh. Thanks guys," Rachel tiredly mutters.
"Are you okay? What happened?" Evergreen asks worried.
"I'm okay guys. Only a few bruises. I'm mostly just exhausted. I pushed my body to the limit, I'm afraid," she says with a sigh.
"You should be more careful when returning from a mission. You should have rested before you came home," I scolded her.
"I did. This wasn't from my mission," Rachel responds.
"What?! What happened?" Bickslow asks.
"Sigh. I was ambushed. By one of the dark guilds that hunted me when I was young," she responds.
