This morning was nice

This morning was nice. Billie woke up before me and surprised me with breakfast in bed. She then proceeded to wake me up after she nearly dropped a plate and cursed loudly, apologising for waking me like that as she wanted to kiss me awake. She made up for it by giving me a big, syrupy kiss as i ate the pancakes she made that were drenched in the sweet stuff.

"I want us to match." She had said as we started to get ready together. We both dressed in hoodies and sweats as Billie said she was planning more of a chill date. My hoodie was black with white sweats, and her hoodie was white with black sweats. It was cute honestly. Billie's hair was pulled to the top of her head in a bun which i loved on her. Billie in buns. Definitely need to see more of.

We were currently in Billie's car as she drove around casually, drumming her fingers on the steering wheel. Her other hand was resting on my thigh and her thumb rubbed small circles on the material of my sweats gently.

"I hope you're not expecting anything too special." Billie turned to look at me, a nervous smile on her lips.

"Anything we do is special." I gave her a reassuring smile and grabbed her hand that was on my thigh. She smiled at me softly before turning her head to focus on the road ahead of her. The route she was taking was familiar but i couldn't quite put my finger on where we were going. I didn't bother asking her cause i knew she wouldn't tell me anyway. That's just the way Billie was.

It wasn't long before Billie stopped in front of a beach. She turned to smile at me excitedly.

"I know how much you like the beach." She reached behind her and pulled out a cute little picnic basket that i didn't even know she had in there.

"Aw, Billie." I pouted at how cute she was and leaned over to kiss her cheek. She blushed slightly and giggled.

"Come on. Actually, wait there." Billie added, opening the door to her car and quickly getting out of it, basket in hand. She jogged over to my side and opened the door for me, a proud grin lighting up her face.

"You're so sweet." I smiled at the blonde before getting out of the car. Billie closed it after me and offered me her free hand which i gladly took. We walked along the sand in a comfortable silence before i broke it, looking over at the water.

"I love this place but it gives me a weird feeling." I said it quietly but Billie heard it over the crashing waves.

"Why's that?" She looked at me, a few loose strands of hair falling from her bun and flying around in the air.

"It was here when i found out what happened to you and Finneas properly in that car crash. With Claudia and Gemma." I gave Billie's hand a quick squeeze and stopped walking.

"Let's sit here for a bit."

Billie nodded in agreement and we both sat down in the sand while the blonde cursed herself for not bringing a blanket to sit on. She placed the basket down in front of us and i opened it, curious to see what was in it.

"Are you serious, Billie?" I gave her a playful glare and laughed slightly, bringing out the many bags of Cheetos Billie had stashed in there.

"I didn't know what to pack!" Billie said defensively and grabbed a bag for herself, tearing it open and grabbing a handful. "Don't complain."

"I'm definitely not complaining." I shrugged and took a bag for myself too.

We sat and popped Cheetos into our mouths silently, watching other couples and a few children run around in the sand and play in the water. I could tell Billie was nervous as she avoided looking at any of the people in case they recognised her. I felt bad. She couldn't even sit on the beach without feeling anxious.

"I've got something to tell you." Billie spoke up, glancing at me. My heart started to beat faster at those words. Oh god, what now?

"Yeah?" I said quietly, scared for what she was going to say to me.

"I kind of bought a house." Billie rushed out, her eyes wide.

"Oh." I mumbled, my eyebrows furrowing in sadness. "You're leaving me?" I let out a humourless chuckle and watched as Billie started to shake her head frantically.

"No! I bought it for us!" She put her hands up defensively but my expression didn't change.

"Billie! Why'd you do that?" I groaned. It was her turn for her expression to fall.

"I thought you'd be happy." Billie frowned, pulling her legs against her chest and resting her chin on her knee.

"Don't get me wrong, i am. Really. You should have told me, though." I gave her a small smile to show i wasn't angry. "I would've liked to give you money for it."

"Oh, don't worry about money." Billie smiled gently. "Everything's sorted. Claudia has been decorating for us."

"Sneaky." I narrowed my eyes at her playfully and she laughed.

"We can move in whenever you want. Next week, next month. Tomorrow." Billie tipped her Cheeto bag up and let the remainder of the crisps fall into her mouth. She sucked on her finger tips and put the empty packet in the basket.

"I can't believe you bought a damn house." I laughed in disbelief and threw my arms around the blonde. She let out a giggle in surprise as we both fell back.

"I'm gonna get sand in my hair!" Billie cried, trying to get up but i pinned her down. Her eyebrow raised curiously.

"Sex on the beach?" She suggested and i shoved her playfully.

"Billie! There are children." I rolled my eyes and bent down to give her a kiss. And another. And another.

"I don't taste that good, do i?" Billie asked cockily.

"No, you don't. It's the Cheetos."

"Ha! Bitch."
