Beomgyu's POV:

We were outside of the courtyard, working on a project again. Taehyun was quiet as usual with me today at first, but eventually, we were both laughing at the stories I was telling. But he wouldn't open up to me still. Well, I don't blame him. I still get surprised when he laughs at my jokes, knowing that he hates me.

"That was a good one," he commented.

"Yeonjunie-hyung's fault~" I praised with a smile. "Hey, what about your old school? What were you like then?" I asked, aaaand led us to silence once again. Good job, Beomgyu. Did something happen at his old school? Is it related to the guy in the picture?

I was curious. Questions were filling my mind. I wanted to know more about Taehyun. But why did I? What is the reason I was so passionate about learning more about him?

"Sorry, I shouldn't have asked. I was just curious. It's okay if you don't want to talk about it."

"I don't," he answered. His voice sounded somewhat cold.

We quietly returned to organizing the information we've got so far.

'Keep your curiosity to yourself, Beomgyu! It was hard enough to just make him text you!'

"I'll be right back." he stood up and left.

Stop waking away from me.

He returned back after a while, with some snacks in his hands, bought from a vending machine by the cafeteria.

"Thanks," I said.

He nodded.

"Hey, Taehyun," I called him and he turned to me. "Why do you avoid people?"

"Something happened at my old school," he answered and lowered his head back to the project.

No matter what I ask, the answer is always hidden in his past he doesn't want to share. Was Taehyun always like this or has something changed him?

"You okay?" I heard his voice and snapped out of my thoughts.

"Sorry, I spaced out."

3rd person's POV:

After school, Yeonjun and Beomgyu were sitting outside of the food court in the park, simply chatting.

"So, how is it going with Taehyun?" Yeonjun asked as he took a sip of his drink.

"He's not 'ice prince' anymore?" the younger chuckled.

"Well, he's Soobin's friend. Best friend. And I mean, I was only calling him that based on how he was acting around you." the blonde explained himself.

Beomgyu smiled to himself and answered Yeonjun's question. "Well, we get to talk when we work on a project. It's been only like, a week since we actually started working, so he still won't open up to me. I don't blame him. He was forced to work with me. What else can I expect?" he chuckled.

"At least he is talking to you." Yeonjun shrugged. "Give him time. Soobin says he's a nice guy."

"Speaking of Soobin-hyung. What's he like?" Beomgyu asked with a slight smirk.

"What's that look for?" the older tensed up.

"No reason~ Just wanna make sure you're in good hands~"

Yeonjun scoffed. "pLEASE! He is the one in good hands here." he smirked and Beomgyu's grin only grew wider as Yeonjun took another sip of his drink as he leaned back against the bench they were sitting on.

"Does he say anything about Taehyun?"

"You're so worked up about that boy, Beomgyu. Why?"

"I don't know... There's something about him that I just feel the urge to know him. The real him. I just... feel like this 'ice prince' thing is just a mask to cover his real self. I've worked with him on a project and I can tell that 'ice prince' is not who he is. Whenever I ask a question, his answer goes into that old school he came from. And I want to know what happened. He keeps it to himself, not telling anyone, and suffers alone because of it."

Yeonjun hummed as he listened to the younger's words.

"I just see the way he acts around Soobin-hyung and how different he acts around others. It's not just hatred. He has a reason."

"You sure are interested in him."

"Would you turn off your flirty mode at least once, hyung?" Beomgyu half-joked after witnessing a smirk appear on Yeonjun's face, knowing what thoughts he's been getting. The two laughed when Yeonjun heard his phone ding.

He checked the notification and smiled immediately.

Beomgyu laughed. "You're so easy to read, hyung. You have it all written over your face. It's him, huh?"

"Yeah..." Yeonjun unconsciously smiled more as Beomgyu burst into laughter, playfully hitting Yeonjun's shoulder.

The blonde snapped out of whatever trance he was in and blushed at Beomgyu's smirk.

"What's he asking??" Beomgyu was being the nosy child and looked into his hyung's phone as the older reflexively was doing his best for Beomgyu to not see.

"He just wants to hang out." Yeonjun blurted out.

"You are cute."

"HOW AM I CUTE AT THIS SPECIFIC MOMENT?!?! I'M JUST TALKING TO A FRIEND-!"

"Because that smile on your face says a lot already."

"I... I just like hanging out with him..."

"I said what I said. Cute."

Yeonjun got shy from Beomgyu's nosiness.

"HOLD UP-!!! IS THERE SOMETHING MORE YOU'RE NOT TELLING ME, HYUNG?!!!!!!" the realization hit.

"What-- What do you mean--?" Yeonjun got startled.

"Do you like Soobin-hyung????"

"W-why that question-??! Yeah, I do, we get along well... ᵃⁿᵈ ʰᵉ'ˢ ᶜᵘᵗᵉ..." Yeonjun was taken aback by the younger's excitement.

"You know what I mean, hyung!"

"Yes, I am interested in Soobin. But.. it's like with you and Taehyun. I feel like something's not right, so I want to figure it out." the blonde explained.

"You're interested in him and his true self~~" Beomgyu teased sing-like.

"Can say the say the same about you and Taehyun." Yeonjun tried turning the tables.

"Nah, he won't like me anyway, so what's the point? Besides, he's definitely not even bi like you." the younger boy shrugged the thought away, annoying Yeonjun.

"You-- just gotta out me like that."
