Chapter 16: Truth❗

3rd person's POV:

"You want to know the reason why I despised you so much? It's the fakeness of all popular kids."

Beomgyu was surprised to hear it. He wasn't fake with his fans. He was just having fun. Maybe when he was having a bad day, he would sometimes put a smile on for others to smile as well. Or when the not-so-pleasant rumors were spreading around, he had to act as if it was nothing though it irritated him.

Sometimes he would want to live a normal life so that he is the only one to care about his own life.

He wanted to ask a question but Taehyun interrupted him before he could even open his mouth as he continued with the story.

"I know because I was one of those 'popular kids'. I know because I experienced it. All the lies you say to please others. All the fakeness. It's all just to cover up who you really are to keep an image."

Beomgyu tried to keep quiet about Taehyun's words.

"Do you want to share it...?" he asked quietly and heard the younger sigh.

"I was always 'perfect'. I was supposed to be perfect. Because if I wasn't, some assholes will most definitely find a way to turn something innocent against you which will ruin your reputation and your life because they just can't mind their own business!" Taehyun's voice tone was raising as he continued which startled Beomgyu.

The younger boy let out another heavy sigh to relax, and continued,

"That guy... the one that you saw today. He is an old friend of mine from that school. His name is Hueningkai. We were both part of a 'popular group' of students. I loved the attention I was getting. I had nothing to worry about because I had my best friend by my side. But what I didn't realize, was that the whole school knew everything about me. Some stalked me. Some were trying to spread some dirty rumors which were obviously not true."

The younger continued, "But what was the worst, was that they were obsessed with me. They didn't want to live their life, they were interested in mine. And I had to keep up my image of being perfect and try my best to hide ANY flaws or any imperfections." Taehyun explained and Beomgyu couldn't help but get lost in thoughts because he could relate so much.

"One day, Hueningkai and I were just fooling around and we were caught in a pretty awkward situation..." he let out a shaky breath at the memories.

"Hey..."

"He was on top of me as we were laying on the floor. It sounds wrong but nothing happened between us! The day after, my reputation was ruined. More to that, I started being bullied and people were giving me weird stares and calling me names. Those same people who used to give me so much support. Especially when I was with Kai, even he was being under the disgusted glares. People thought we were together as a couple when we were just friends! I am not gay, and neither is he!" this talk was irritating Taehyun more and more. After so much time resisting telling the story to anybody, Beomgyu is the first person to know the truth.

He kept stroking Taehyun's shoulder that was exposed, but Taehyun was too busy telling the story to notice. But his body definitely felt less tensed.

"But it wasn't what changed me. I was different. I was weak and wasn't able to stand up for myself. We found out who was spreading the rumors about me and Kai. It was our 'supposed to be friends' who were the popular group in the school. Those traitors spread the rumors about us being gays and being together-!" Taehyun started yelling. He let out a heavy sigh again and continued,
