Chapter 11: Lock down

Taehyun's POV:

It was finally the day when we were presenting our project. I'll finally get rid of that show-off Choi. He'll finally stop going around my stuff and keep asking me questions. I might as well go on for a swim today to finally relax.

The bell rang and the teacher walked into the class. As she checked the attendance, I've been preparing myself to come up and present.

"Oh my God, I can't wait for Beomgyu-oppa and Taehyunie-oppa to present!!"

"I know right!! Those two are so handsome and they got paired up!!"

"I wonder how they were working up together. Taehyun-ssi is not much of a big mouth like Beomgyu-ssi."

"But not gonna lie, Taehyun-ssi's coldness is quite hot in a way."

"And you are just in lovveee with Tsunderes."

"Yahhhhhh! You can't deny it!!"

Pfft. If they want me not to hear them, they're quite loud.

"What if Beomgyu-ah fell for Taehyun????" I heard another girl say.

"Are you saying he's gay now, though you want him to yourself?"

"But hey! They're cute together!!"

Oh my God, they did not just say that.

Keep calm, Taehyun. Keep calm.

I was about to put my earbud in to not hear the further conversation of those fangirls, but the teacher already finished marking the attendance and was ready to start the lesson.

"Alright, do I have any volunteers that would like to go first?" she asked as she scanned the class for any risen hands.

I then raised mine. I wanted to get this project done with so that Beomgyu would finally leave me alone.

"Taehyun! Perfect! Grab your partner and you may present whenever both of you are ready." she smiled as she grabbed the rubric to help her grade.

Beomgyu started off. His blabbermouth wouldn't stop talking and I would just interrupt him in between to add some more information. I would eventually talk myself obviously as well. Pretty sure that was the first time most of those kids heard me talk longer than I usually do around them. I usually keep quiet with students and the only person I talk to is Soobin-hyung.

I was in the middle of talking when the sudden drill bell started ringing and we heard a man announce the emergency lockdown drill on the speaker.

"This is a drill. This is a drill. This is a drill."

Great.

We were all collected in the corner of the class. I sat on the floor, practically pushed into the corner. Students kept pushing through until they all sat there finally and calmed down.

As everyone was sitting in silence, I felt a hand brush on top of mine that was on the floor. I jolted and looked up as I notice Beomgyu just looking into nowhere, waiting for us to be dismissed. It's like he didn't even notice his hand being on mine.

I turned redder at the realization.

Some people to my side were pushing each other left and right. Why? Don't ask. They decided to "joke around" and randomly started pushing each other. What are they? 5?

With one more push, I was close against Beomgyu. He turned his head and looked me in the eyes.

We were close.

I pulled my mask up and looked away, blushing in embarrassment this time.

"Thank you, teachers and students. You may now proceed to do your work until the rest of the class." we heard the announcement and almost immediately, everyone started standing up and proceeded to their seats. Beomgyu and I walked up to the board to continue the presentation.

I continued from where we stopped and then let Beomgyu take over and finish presenting.

As we were standing and explaining our project to the rest of the class, I could see groups of girls whispering and giggling with each other. No need to have an extra strong hearing to simply guess what they were fangirling about. Now that me and Beomgyu got paired up together, my fans and his fans had been close with each other. I don't even want to know what they're talking about. Just the thought of it pisses me off and turns my knuckles white.

I heard the class applaud and realized that Beomgyu had finished our presentation.

"Great teamwork, thank you very much." we heard the teacher praise. We bowed politely and proceeded to our seats. It looked like Beomgyu wanted to give me a high five, but I passed by and sat in my seat, ignoring his gesture.

It's over. It's finally over!

As I was in my thoughts, I heard our class door open.

"Pardon the interruption, please. This student will now be in your class." the staff member that just came in, said, and the student showed himself.

I couldn't quite figure out his face because of the mask. His eyes looked like they were piercing into your soul because of their shape. He was tall and his shoulders were quite broad.

I recognized those eyes.

Wait.... isn't that...

"Hi!! My name is Hueningkai!" the boy took off his mask to show his bright smile as he introduced himself.

No way....
