Warning!: smut scene in this update!
Waiting patiently in the parlour of Mrs Lovett's pie shop Sweeney sat at one of the booths. The only company he had was that of large glass of gin which he sipped at washing his sorrows away. It was now around 10:30 into the evening and Eleanore was still not back from taking Johanna and Anthony to safety.
It had been a very long day not that either of their business were open for the day, but draining mentally.
Toby had been awkward with him the whole day as expected. Even so, he was glad the boy was there to tell some angry customers that came knocking at the door that they were closed due to a family emergency. People of London didn't seem to care and were irritated that they couldn't grab a pie they so clearly craved. Sweeney never realised that human meat could ever be so popular. No wonder Mrs Lovett's establishment had taken off so well and was the talk of London Town.
Taking another swig of the gin Sweeney leaned back against the wooded booth and closed his eyes.
Saying goodbye to Johanna had been harder then expected, even he Sweeney Todd couldn't help the small tears that brimmed in his eyes as he watched the carriage take off earlier today. Never would he shed the tears, but they were certainly there. He just hoped Eleanore hadn't spotted him welling up, he didn't want to look so weak.
Now alone after Toby took it upon himself to go to bed Sweeney continued to think about what to do next. He just had to get to the judge, had to devour on that revenge he so desperately craved day and night. Turpin needed to pay for all the pain he had caused upon his loved ones. He was doing this for Johanna and Lucy...
The door suddenly opened, the bell chiming loudly above.
"Bloody freezing out there" came Mrs Lovett's voice into the parlour closing the door behind her. Spotting him she could see he looked rather broken, she could only imagine what he must be going through and for that her heart went out to him.
"Everything alright dear" she asked softly as she approached him. Standing above where he was seated she gently ran her hand through the back of his hair in an attempt to comfort him.
"Are they safe" he asked looking towards her finally.
Nodding Nellie smiled down at him "perfectly" she continued to run her hand gently through his hair soothing him as best she could.
Hearing this settled him a little and so he picked up his drink and took a swig. "I'm grateful" he added looking aback towards her "thank you"
His eyes looking towards her with such gratitude made her gulp. He really looked so grateful and for that she could only smile shyly at him. "Im going to bed love" she said removing her hand from his hair and heading away towards her room.
"I'll be in in a bit" he muttered faintly sipping at his gin again.
After watching her go he finished off the drink and lifted himself from the booth. Walking across the parlour towards the sink Sweeney put the bottle away and left his glass in some warm water. The pie shop seemed so empty now, so quiet....
Making his way out of the shop and towards the bedroom he opened the door just a fraction seeing Nellie standing with her back to him in only her bloomers and corset with her dress pooled around her feet. He watched for a little while as she stepped over her dress and pulled out the grips in her hair allowing her fiery red curls to fall down her back. She was a goddess....
