Biography:
Cassie Valentine comes from a family of overachievers and that's put a lot of expectations on her to be the best she can be. She comes from a wealthy family that owns hotels across the United States. Her great-great grandfather, Jonathan Hudson, was an innkeeper in Virginia in the early 1900s. He didn't have sons to carry the legacy, but his daughter Alma married Beauclaire Valentine who was a natural at being an innkeeper and soon the family business expanded to cover hotels up and down the Eastern Seaboard, and eventually across the United States.
Cassie and her twin brother Max were expected to take over the family business one day. Cassie even went to Wharton Business School to please her grandfather, but her heart was set on medicine ever since she'd read Ethan Ramsey's book, Diagnostics Principles. She defied her family's expectations and applied to John Hopkins medical school while finishing her MBA. Her brother and parents supported her decision, but her grandfather did not which led to some interesting family gatherings over the next four years with both Valentines stubbornly clinging to their side.
When she got matched at Edenbrook, it was a dream come true and a chance to start a different life than one that had been planned for her.
