Now that he's retired, Naveen decided to co-host a small family dinner at his cabin by the lake with his longtime friend, Alan Ramsey.
The guests included the matchmaking pair's favorite topic of conversation: Alan's son and Naveen's mentee, and now Chief of Medicine, Ethan Ramsey, and Dr. Cassie Valentine, his partner and newly appointed Head of Diagnostics at Edenbrook Hospital (aka Naveen's grand-mentee).
Before the couple arrived, Alan and Naveen took bets on how long it will take Ethan to wise up and marry Cassie. It must be said, neither won the bet.
That honor belonged to Cassie's mom, Olivia who is a bigger matchmaker than Alan and Naveen. In fact, when the three met at the wedding, they recognized each other as kindred spirits.
Thankfully for Alan, the three doctors stayed away from medical topics...well at least most of the time during dinner. When they did go off on medical tangents, he just nodded and refilled empty wine glasses as needed, glad to see his son happy and content.
At the end of the night, Naveen took a photo of the budding family, which now holds a place of honor on Alan's mantel.
