✨1 WEEK LATER - THE DAY OF THE FULL MOON✨

"Damn it, Pads, give'm back!! I'm fucking stressed!" Kacie whined as she reached out for the pack of cigarettes that she had just pulled from her bag while her, Sirius & Marlene were 'studying' in the girl's dorm. Remus, James & Peter having had class, but the three of them having a free period, so they made the academic decision to study for the upcoming quiz in Herbology that was going to be worth thirty-five percent of their final grade. It was to take place the week before they leave for Christmas holiday and Kacie was extremely nervous. She was intelligent, but she had a couple weak subjects. Divination being one and Herbology being the other. Luckily Marlene was terrific in the class, so when she couldn't study with Remus, she would study with Marlene.

Only downfall to this arrangement was, now that Sirius and Marlene were dating, her twin was constantly with Marlene. Not that she minded, she loved spending any extra time with Sirius that she could. Their bond an undying one, obviously. But, to put it lightly, when it came to academics, Sirius tended to be a slacker. So that made it hard to study with Marlene now, because Sirius was always there to put a pin in it. To say that it was stressing Kacie out that she didn't have her Herbology 'tutor' to fall back on when she didn't know what she was doing, was a bit of an understatement.

To make matters worse, James, Sirius and Peter had landed themselves two weeks detention the day before. They would be serving it with Filch, of all people, so they wouldn't be getting out of it tonight. So they wouldn't be able to accompany Remus during the transformation. Another part of the reason she was worried was they hadn't told Remus about this mishap yet. She wanted to badly but she was sworn to secrecy until after their DADA class. They were working on relearning certain points of interest for their NEWTS and today was going to be relearning Boggarts. The boys didn't want Remus's mind being clouded with any fear or worry during this lesson, so they chose to wait it out and tell him after.

Kacie hated keeping it from him, even if it was just for a day or so. But she also was concerned about his frame of mind when he found out. They have been a huge help to him and his transformations in the last few months and he's had a renewed sense of self-worth, finally. They didn't need, for one night, for that to be put at risk. She thought about offering to go with him alone, but she shuddered to think what his reaction would be to that offer. She wasn't the least bit worried about Moony or him hurting her. But she knew Remus's mind wasn't ready to admit that she was absolutely safe alone with the Lycanthrope in his werewolf form.

She had decided to try to calm her nerves by lighting up a cigarette. Something she normally wouldn't do, unless she was drinking. But occasionally, when she felt like she needed it, she'd randomly light one up and puff her worries away. Tonight though, Sirius was having none of it. For what reason, she didn't know. He smokes for Merlin sakes, why is it so wrong for her to want one every once and a while. She signed loudly in exasperation, when he yanked the soft pack from her grasps again.
