Confused by this new part of town and honestly shaken, Ray wondered into a local restaurant. The sign out front said it was open.
The lights inside were dim, and though Ray couldn't hear it he could see everyone talking and having a good time. He was hesitant to walk in- not only were the faces unfamiliar, they were mostly monsters.
He had yet to meet many of them, besides Tori and her family.
After a moment, a waiter approached, thankfully human. After glancing him over, noting the obvious confusion and attempts to sign at him, he rather choppily and slowly signed "I don't know much ASL. Do you have a translator with you?"
Ray wasn't sure he even knew the signs for yes and no, he was clearly nervous and inexperienced in signing what he did and obviously didn't even understand the question "Where am I?", Which he had just asked.
He was about to shake his head, but someone bumped into him from behind. They first yelped something when they fell, he could barely read their lips they spoke so fast. Sounded like an apology.
After a moment, the waiter that had approached him before said something, and the fox monster stood and started signing fluently, although his hands shook and ears lowered slightly due to being put on the spot like this.
"I apologize for bumping into you, I was in a rush." He signed "My friend says you seem to be deaf. Do you have a translator? Do you need one?"
Yoi, Aishi and Nina had met at the arcade, and they haven't stopped meeting there since. Every Friday, they'd play the same few games and compete at Dance Dance Revolution.
Usually, Aishi won. She was limber, quick on her feet, and too fast too keep up with. However, this time, Nina had somehow bested the cat monster.
"Haha!" Nina grinned widely, doing her little dance of triumph. As graceful as ever, Aishi gave her a bright smile and hummed "Great job! That was fun!"
Oh no.
That was cute-
