The public hardly knew much about him, he never got more than a couple minutes of screentime and he didn't actually have an alias. He simply became known as "The Hound", or "The Pet Hero".
Everyone knows, though, that anywhere he goes, the police and the news will be short behind. It's like they had his gps or something. He always disappears when they do, too, forcing the nearest superhero to intervene.
It's gotten to the point that common crooks have come to avoid most white dogs, so it was only a matter of time before he got a bounty on his head.
And with a bounty, comes bounty hunters.
