Chapter 7: Do I Look Okay?

Hiccup's POV

By the time I got to our dorm, Astrid had already gotten into her pajamas, and had bundled herself up in bed while eating a chocolate bar.

"Hey," I said, not knowing how to approach her.

"What are you doing here?" She asked.

"Well, for one, this is my dorm too. Another reason would be that I only went to that party for your sake." I said solemnly. She rubbed her forhead with her hand.

"I can't believe he did that." She said.

"I can," I muttered and looked back up at her, "Are you okay?"

"Do I look okay?" She asked and fell backwards on her bed. "Hiccup, I'm sorry I made you go to that party." She said, and bit her lip. My eyes widened. Astrid never apologized. Least of all to me.

"Are you sure you're okay? You just apologized to me." I said, and laughed as Astrid's expression softened.

"Yeah, I'm fine." She said "Although, it would really make me feel better if I was able to beat someone at Mario Kart." She said, and gestured toward the Wii. I sighed,grabbed two controllers, and turned on the Wii. Astrid did end up beating me. Seven. Times. 

"Wow, you really stink at this game." She said, when I surrendered.

"Thank you for your consideration of my feelings." She said.

"No problem." She said, and was silent for a few more beats before she spoke up again. "Goodnight Hiccup."

"Night." I said, and listened to Astrid's soft snoring as I designed Punz's website.

When I woke up the next morning, I looked toward Astrid's bed, and to my suprise, she was still there. Her wavy hair was sprawled in all different directions, and she was still snoring, so I tiptoed past her, took a quick shower, and headed for Jack's dorm.

He had barely let me in before he spoke excitedly, 

"I heard about what happened at Tuffnut's party...is it true?" He asked

"Is what true?" I asked, trying to play dumb.

"That Snotlout kissed Ruffnut, and he and Astrid are over?" 

"Oh..yeah." I said quietly.

"Were you there?" Jack asked 

"Yeah..." I said, not knowing where Jack was taking it.

"Tuffnut invited you?" He asked

"Astrid invited me. I thought she said she asked you to go too?" I asked, suddenly confused

"She didn't ask me anything...I wish though." Jack said solemnly, and walked over to his Xbox. I groaned.

"Jack, you know I hate gaming." I said. He looked at me and smirked.

"I know."
