Astrid's POV
"Are you sure you don't need me to help you unpack all of this stuff?" Mom asked as she looked around the room timidly.
"Yes Mom, I'm fine." I said as I inspected the room myself. My roommate must have been really tomboyish, or just hated girly colors because their side of the room was filled with green and black things. There were especially a bunch of duffel bags, but I chose to ignore that fact, and just focus on my side.
"Well," Mom said as she played with her wedding ring, "I guess this is goodbye until Thanksgiving." I nodded, and gave my mom a giant bear hug. She wrapped her arms around me immediately, and I felt like a little kid again, but I didn't care.
"Bye Mom." I said into her shoulder considering I was a few inches taller than her. She sniffed, and waved bye to me as she picked up her bag and left the room. Once she was gone I felt like crying myself, but I turned toward the mass of boxes and bags that I had to unpack, and decided to start with my bed, which was decidedly the easiest thing to do.
After I had finished unpacking and making my side of the room look cool (it was decorated with blue and purple things, people) I plopped on my bed, took out my phone, and waited for my roommate to come in. I spent three hours on my bed just texting random people, and by random people I mean my best friend Rapunzel. Finally I got tired of waiting and texted Punz,
what's ur dorm room number?
Considering that Punz was a fast texter, it didn't take her long to answer.
A113
I hopped off my bed and walked down the hall, looking for the dorm rooms labeled with A's and not B's. Finally, I came upon A113, and let myself in.
"Punz, it's not very safe to keep your dorm room open." I said teasingly
"Who cares?" She asked, and returned to the game that she was playing. Just Dance 2015.
"I can dance so much better that you two can, it's not even funny." I heard an annoying voice say, and I finally noticed the two other people who were in the room with Punz. Jack Frost (he was the one that had spoken), and Hiccup Haddock. My eyes narrowed at Hiccup, who unlike years past, didn't seem fazed by me at all.
"Uh," Jack said
"Oh, Hiccup, maybe your roommate's here." Punz said, breaking the awkward silence.
"Oh yeah." He said, and ran down the hall to his room. I ran after him just to see if my own roommate was here, but when I got to the dorm, I saw that Hiccup was standing there.
"What are you doing here?" I hissed
"This is my dorm." He said with an edge to his voice.
"It's mine too..." I said and trailed off looking at him.
"Wait, what?" Hiccup asked. I started shaking my head. This could not be happening,
"Oh no." I said.
