Hiccup's POV
I walked back to the dorm, hoping that Astrid wouldn't be there, but with my horrendous luck she probably would be. I came up to our door, and let myself in to find that Astrid was sprawled out on the floor finishing out bear. She still had a bunch of internal organs to paint, and label, but the actual bear was almost done.
"Hey," I said quietly, and rolled up my sleeves to help paint some of the stuff.
"Hey." She replied and kept on painting.
"So...how have you been all day?" I asked awkwardly.
"Look, Hiccup, I know that today's been weird and all, and stuff like that, but why don't we just forget what happenend, and just be friends." She said, and smiled at me.
Just be friends.
I managed a weak smile, as Astrid help out her hand for me to shake, and I took it and shook.
"Are we good?" I asked.
"Great." She said, and handed me a paintbrush.
"What do I do?" I asked.
"You have to paint the bear's teeth...realistically." She said, and gave me yellow, white, and green paint.
We sat there in a comfortable silence and painted carefully. The only thing on my mind, however, was what Astrid had said. She probably didn't like me. What was I thinking? I didn't like Astrid. She was the Wicked Witch of the West, the Beast from the East, but not anyone who I liked. I cleared my head, just as Astrid asked me something.
"...my mom gave me tickets to go to this carnival, and I was wondering if you wanted to go. Maybe?" She asked skeptically.
"Oh...um...yeah. I would love to go to the carnival."
"Yay." She smiled. I smiled too because Astrid and I were actually friends. Really good friends as a matter of fact, and as long as she was my friend I was alright. At least I wouldn't have to worry about her trying to break any of my bones anytime soon.
hElLo! Thanks for being patient and waiting for this update. I'll be updating again this week, so stay tuned, but I'm really excited for school for once, because in literature we're doing a project where we research famous children's authors, and I'm doing Rosemary Wells. She wrote the Max and Ruby books. I really love those!
Anyway, thanks for reading, don't forget to vote, and ignore any mistakes. ByE!
This chapter is dedicated to hiccstrid_fan because she followed me. Thank you!
