Astrid's POV
"There we go," Punz said, as she pinned down the last piece of hair in my messy bun. It was technically a braided bun, but it was super messy so that it still had a bit of Astrid flair to it.
I stood up and twirled in front of the full length mirror once more before looking at Punz,
"Thanks." I said,
"No problem, now I believe you have a date to attend." She said, and smirked. I saluted her, and walked to the front door, grabbing my jacket before heading outside.
Hiccup was standing next to his car, but when he saw me his eyes widened.
"Wow, Astrid you look..amazing." He said, looking me up and down. I could feel the blush creeping up my face as I muttered a 'thank you' and sat in the car. Hiccup sat down in his seat, and started out of the campus parking lot.
"Alright, so, where are we going?" I asked,
"Mmm, it's a surprise."
"Is everything going to be a surprise?" I questioned.
"Maybe, maybe not." He said, and kept driving. After a couple minutes of awful singing, meaningless conversation, and corny jokes, we pulled up to a fancy-looking resteraunt. Hiccup helped me out of the car, and we walked into the place. I was immediately hit with the smell of steak, vegetables, and too many other good things that I couldn't put a name on.
"Oh my Odin Hiccup." I said, as we walked up a giant staircase that had gold railing, and into a room labeled with the name Haddock on the door.
I walked into the room and saw a table for two, already set. The table had a salad, silverware, and two glasses of water, but was otherwise empty. I looked around the room to find it was surprisingly empty.
"Wow, this place is really open." I said, looking around a bit more.
"That's so that I can do this," He said, and turned on a radio, "May I have this dance?"
"You may." I said, and put one hand on his shoulder, as Hiccup took my other hand, and we waltzed around the room to Ellie Goulding's "Love Me Like You Do".
I laughed as Hiccup twirled me around, and as he dipped me once more before the end of the song came. He pulled me up, and we were centimeters away from kissing, but the door opened, and a waiter came in to take our orders.

"I'm stuffed," I said, and wiped the chocolate frosting off my mouth, and laughed at Hiccup who had chocolate on his nose. He smiled and wiped it off before speaking,
"Astrid, I've had an awesome night, but I have one more question to ask, before we go." He sighed, and got on one knee, and for a second I thought he was going to ask me to marry him, but he said instead,
"Astrid, to say I liked you three months ago would be an overstatement, but over time you showed me that you weren't the worst person in the world. Far from it actually. I realized that you were a beautiful, caring, sweet, sarcastic, and amazing person who just got a little over-eager sometimes. I don't want to be your friend. I want to be that guy you can cry to when you're sad, I want to be the guy you trust with all your secrets. I want to be the guy you say 'I love you' to. So, Astrid Hofferson, will you be my girlfriend?"
He pulled a bracelet out of his suit pocket that was engraved with 'H + A' and held it out with shaky hands. I smiled as a tear fell down my cheek, and pulled him into kiss. He wrapped his arms around my waist, and mine wound theselves around his neck. When we broke apart, I could only whisper-yell.
"Yes!"
