"I thought you were the best assassin. How did you manage to miss that?"

"It was too dark," Pico forced to reason.

"Bullshit. Next time, do your job right. He knows someone is at his ass now."

---

"How are you feeling?" Cherry asked, helping Keith get up.

"Great. I have multiple bone injuries," Keith said sarcastically.

"What were you doing there anyway?" Cherry asked, helping Keith to walk.

"I thought it would be cool," Keith said. "Here comes the reporters."

Cherry and Keith turned around and went back to his room. Keith stopped when he spotted someone familiar.

"Hey wait. I think I saw you before!" Keith said, pointing at that person.

Pico hid his face and ran away.

"Huh..." Keith said. He was pushed in the room by Cherry because reporters were making their way inside the building.

The same night, the same job.

Pico went back to work, spying on Keith again. He's a really social person despite his major injuries. He still went along with large groups of people. He still drives for a mile or so. He doesn't stop trying to distract himself from whatever he's thinking.

Pico decided to go to the party. He tried avoiding the looks of people, hoping they won't identify him. He looked at his target who was laughing and stuff as people signed his cast. It's weird how his smile doesn't look forced at all. In fact, it looks genuine and natural.

Pico looked away when he noticed something weird about his heart. He noticed that he's still in a crowded and loud place. He didn't know that it's possible for it to be silenced when he looked at Keith. The whole world shut their mouth for a moment when he looked at him, as if he is a God and the way to communicate is with his adorable face,

Pico couldn't take the overwhelming setting. He went into the bathroom, listening to the muffled music and people screaming while having a conversation. It didn't take that long for the footsteps outside to get louder. Pico hid behind the shower curtain, the bathroom door opening after.

He heard a familiar sniffle. He peeked and saw Keith looking at his reflection in the mirror. He wondered who or what made him upset again. He looks like he wants to hold everything in, but he couldn't. Pico didn't like him because of it. Holding back emotions is what made him like this.

"You're fake. No wonder why everyone loves you," Keith told his reflection.

He wiped his face using his hands then turned on the faucet to wash his face.

Pico wondered why he has a very bad self image. He doesn't think he's that bad. In fact, he's better than all of his past targets. His past targets were horrible people. Keith is just a bubbly person who looks like he loves everything about him but hates himself. Pico couldn't question why he's a target in the first place. It's in the rulebook of assassins.

Pico sees this as an opportunity to escape. He doesn't have to waste his time waiting around. He made a noise when he was making his escape though. So much for being an assassin.

"Who's there?" Keith said cautiously.

Pico cursed under his breath, grabbing his weapon in case he tried to open the curtains.

"Oh gee... This is embarrassing," Keith chuckled. "I'm sorry you have to listen or hear that... I trust you not to tell anyone though. I want to be happy for them."

Pico stayed silent, waiting for him to go away. He usually ignores this boring dialogue but for some weird reason, he listened.

"I'm sure you understand... Making people happy when they couldn't be."

Pico used to understand. He still doesn't know what happened.

"I'll leave now. Thanks for coming by my pity party," Keith said, exiting the room.

Pico finally breathed. He jumped and escaped from the window.

He was kind of upset that as everyday goes by, Keith is becoming more and more mysterious. He usually doesn't stalk or spy on his targets. He kills them right on the spot. But Keith's different. What made him different?
