4 - Fear? Love?

Pico looked at himself in the mirror. He still can't get over the fact that he laughed. He washed his face with cold water again, hoping that he'd finally sleep. But when he closed his eyes, he heard his roaring laughter again. His heart pounding faster when he saw Keith smile.

"I can't help but think that we've known each other before, Pico!" Keith said in Pico's memory.

He stumbled on his way to his bed. He didn't know that his target would stay in his mind the whole time. It's good that you have your mind in your target, but it's different. It replays the memories they created. About him.

Pico's becoming more of a mess and he knows it. He hasn't been replying to his friends' texts. 'How are you?' not very much fine, thank you.

He got scolded again by his client. This has never happened before, but whatever. He accidentally knew the reason why he wanted Keith to be eliminated. 'Because he's an egotistical self-loathing brat,'. That doesn't sound like a reason to eliminate people. It sounds like an elementary student who got told that he's ugly by that person so they wanted that person to be dead.

It became serious though. It's also written that he's the one who stayed with Cherry the longest. He's the one that begged by kneeling on his knees and cried. He begged that they should stay together and that he's lonely without her. Pico knew that Cherry's dad knew about Keith's true nature. Despite being with Cherry, he's still lonely. It couldn't be fixed, he just wants company. Cherry has a kind nature he wouldn't let Keith suffer. She's dumb enough not to ask Keith or try to be in his life. Like check up on him, how he's been, what he wants to do to feel complete. Because of her just idling in Keith's life doing so little and for her to move on with her life rather than be in this loveless going downhill relationship, he has to be eliminated.

Pico kind of understood it. It's just too much.

Pico received a message. He checked it to see how his friend's been. But it was from a new number.

"Pico! How are you? :3 go to the movies with us, tulip head!"

He immediately knew who sent that. To continue his mission, he went along with it.

The next day, Pico dressed up nicely. He still wore the same green sweater and brown baggy pants. The same worn out red shoes and bored face. The only difference is that he washed his clothes and put cologne on it. He doesn't know why he put the effort on looking nice. He became conscious of what his target might think of him.

"Oh, Pico! You're here," Cherry said, sounding a bit disappointed.

"Pico, it's great to see you!" Keith smiled, giving Pico a nice hug. "You smell nicer today."

Cherry tapped Keith's shoulder. She motioned him to come closer to her. Keith followed her order. "I thought we're going to the movies together."

"We are," he answered.

"I meant just the two of us."

"But Pico is your bodyguard. He's still coming anyway. I just want to feel like he's invited, not forced to work."

"We never went to the movies with my henchmen before. It's just us. How come Pico gets to go?"

"Can we not argue for the hundredth time. Especially when we're supposed to have a good time and Pico's here?"

"I can't with you anymore."

Cherry and Keith looked at Pico who was standing patiently. They both smiled and approached him.

"Sorry about that, Pico. We were talking about puppies," Keith said.

Pico knows that that was a lie. In Keith's resume, it says that he absolutely adores puppies. If he and Cherry were talking about it, he'd usually be so happy and excited, not frustrated and angry. Pico nodded in response, trying not to intervene.
