"Hope Mikaelson! What the hell are you doing at my house?" Alaric addressed Hope furiously.

"I... um... I was looking for Josie." Hope replied and her stomach turned as she remembered her last encounter with Alaric.

"You are not welcome in my house and I want you to stay away from my daughters." He replied with hatred. Hope was about to leave. She didn't want any confrontation with Alaric Saltzman, but as soon as she turned around she heard running footsteps from the house.

"Hope! Please don't leave." Josie stepped beside her father in the doorway. Hope turned to Jo with a confused look.

"Why is she here Josette? I don't want any Mikaelson near you or your sister." Alaric questioned his daughter with anger.

"I invited her dad. I need to talk to her about something important. Please don't be like this." Josie pleaded.

"We can talk somewhere else some other time, okay? I'm not getting into... whatever this is." Hope replied as she shot a death glare toward Alaric.

"You know what?" Alaric replied suddenly with a smirk on his face. "My daughter invited you, so come on in. It would be very rude of us to just kick you out." He continued in a disturbingly sweet voice which made Hope's skin crawl.

"Thank you daddy." Josie thanked him with an honest smile but Hope was more than uncomfortable with the situation. Jo gestured Hope to go inside, and despite her instinct she entered the house. Josie led her upstairs to her room. Hope could see Alaric's eyes following them, until they shot the bedroom door behind themselves. The room was very plain, barely any decorations but it had two twin beds in it.

"I hope this is not your childhood bedroom, seems a little depressing." Hope said to start some kind of conversation while she sat on one of the beds.

"No, we kinda grew up in the Salvatore school, you know it was a boarding school. My dad got this place recently when he started working in Whitmore. He just got a room for us in it, whenever we need to stay over. I don't think any of us ever used it." Josie explained as she sat down on the opposing bed, facing Hope.

"And Lizzie or Landon can't find you here?" Hope asked skeptically. If she was in Lizzie's shoes, the first place she would look for Josie would be at one of her parents' places.

"I got my dad covering for me. I really need some space to think." Jo replied and Hope just rolled her eyes.

"Thanks for inviting me to his place... you know he tried to kill me last time. Are you trying to get rid of me or what?" Hope asked in an annoyed tone.

"No, Hope. My dad supposed to have evening classes today, I had no idea he would come home. I'm sorry, I wouldn't want to make you feel uncomfortable."

"Let's just get this over with... I don't wanna stay here any longer than needed. You need to talk to Landon and Lizzie asap. Lizzie is worried sick about you and Landon has important things to tell you. After that you can find your soulmate in our apartment. Her name is Penelope..."

"Just shut up Hope! Is this why you came here? I told you I needed some time away. Everyone is going to be fine without me. As for this Penelope... I don't want to meet my soulmate so you can tell her to go back to wherever she came from." Josie replied in a heated tone.

"Sure Josie, I just tell everyone to pause their life because you need some time to think... do you ever think about anyone else beside yourself?" Hope argued back.

"How dare you talk to me this way? I constantly think about Lizzie, Hope! What the knowledge of the merge would do to her. I also think about my soulmate. I know how devastating it could be to lose your other half. I would never want that for that girl, it's easier if we never met, we never know the loss... I know you are incapable of understanding how to be selfless, growing up as an only child, getting everything you ever wanted."
