Chapter 19

"How are you feeling sweetheart?" Klaus asked his daughter the morning after she accidentally killed someone during feeding.

"I'm okay, thanks." Hope replied with an honest smile as she sat down to the breakfast table.

"Unfortunately it happens to every vampire. Don't beat yourself up over this." Freya gave a reassuring squeeze on Hope's shoulder as she served her breakfast.

"Thank you aunt Freya... umm... do we know who she was?" Hope asked with concern.

"Don't you worry about that. It's better if you don't know names... I will take care of the people around her." Klaus replied quickly and Hope nodded. He didn't say family, but everyone had family... people missed her and whatever money her dad was gonna give them wouldn't bring back the person they lost. But life had to go on for their family and for Hope as well...

Hope spent her day in the art room. She only had a couple blood bags that day, she didn't feel like going feeding with her dad. She couldn't wait for night time when she would go to sleep and see Landon again. She felt so excited, like when she first started to experience every little new thing about these dreams. She really missed him and still seemed unreal he would accept Hope fully for who she was. She painted him. She tried to capture every little detail of his beautiful features. She was working on this one painting all day, until her aunt Freya came knocking on the art room late in the afternoon.

"So, is this him?" Freya asked Hope with a teasing smile, pointing at the painting.

"Yeah." Hope blushed but couldn't stop smiling as she was thinking about him.

"I can't believe he is real and truly your soulmate. I'm sorry I didn't believe you at first, but you know we were just trying to protect you." Freya apologised and kissed the top of Hope's head as she was still sitting on the stool.

"I know that. Don't worry about it... so, what did dad tell you about him?" Hope asked her aunt curiously.

"Well, he said that he is harmless and while they were looking for you he was truly worried about you. He was determined to find you, to help Klaus even if he had to endure your father's torment and rage." Freya chuckled.

"Oh god! I hope he didn't scare Landon too much." Hope replied with worry.

"I'm sure he tried." Freya laughed. "But if he truly loves you, I'm pretty sure he can't be scared away, not even with Klaus Mikaelson himself." Freya said with a loving smile and Hope smiled in response. She knew Freya was right, Landon accepted everything about Hope, she knew that now. How could she ever doubt that? "So, when can we meet this Landon? Your aunt Keelin and I are dying to get to know him."

"Oh... I'm not sure about that. Everything that happened recently... you know. He was close with Alaric and his daughters. I'm sure he'd stay and support them for a while, and I rather not meet with the girls right now... Josie tried to blast me with magic last time I saw her... and Lizzie..." Hope sighed loudly. "Honestly I'm really scared of her reaction because she was my only real friend." Hope shrugged sadly.

"I'm sorry sweetheart." Freya caressed Hope's cheek lovingly. "You know, I think for right now you are right to give her some space, but soon, especially if you have some important news for her... perhaps you could try to talk to her, about what happened."

"What do you mean? What news?" Hope asked curiously.

"I think I might just found something about this merge. Mother's grimoire mentions their coven and how they created such a powerful curse. I think I am on a good track to find a reverse." Freya explained.

"Oh my god! Are you serious? That's awesome news!" Hope replied happily, then she remembered Lizzie had no clue about the merge so she had to share the good news with Josie first... and that was probably impossible given how furious she was with Hope. Well, she still had some time to think about this, perhaps she'll ask Landon's help to talk to Josie... even though Hope hated the idea of them talking. "I can help with the spell! We can work on it together."
