Three weeks had passed and Landon stayed at the Mikaelson Compound the whole while. He missed two weeks of his classes, but then winter break started recently. Freya, Keelin and Eli loved Landon. It turned out that Landon was great with kids. He and little Eli formed a special bond which warmed Hope's heart. Hope could see that her dad had a hard time with Landon and Landon tried to avoid him on every occasion. Unfortunately it didn't always work. Landon of course sat with them at their family meals, which Klaus made quite uncomfortable for everyone as he asked Landon very intrusive questions. Landon always answered to him with respect, but Hope and Freya often had to stop Klaus.

Hope and Landon, since figured out a system to spend every single night together, and with the help of a little spell, they were able to do more than just cuddle and sleep, until they made sure no one could hear what they were up to in their room. They also talked a lot. They talked through everything that happened to Alaric, Hope told him exactly what she had been through and she told him she started to feel herself change since her turn. She told Landon about the vampire incident, that she couldn't stop her rage. Landon listened to her, while he wasn't on board with murder he understood Hope's struggle as a tribrid and he never blamed her for anything. He said he would stand by her and help her with the rage and anger if needed. Hope said if he was with her, she had no reason to be angry.

Hope's nights were as equally great as her days. She spent even more time with Landon in their dreams. They talked, they kissed, they made love. It was perfect. Although she couldn't help but miss her wolf in the dreams. She never appeared in her wolf form, ever again.

Besides spending time with Landon, Hope spent a lot of time with her aunt Freya as they worked on the merge. After 3 weeks, they were done. It was a viable spell that could actually work on the twins and they would never have to face the merge. Hope was eager to tell them, but she was still not talking to any of them. After they finished everything with Freya, she walked up to Landon's room. Landon was talking on the phone when she entered, but he quickly hung it up when he noticed Hope... but Hope could hear who he was talking to.

"So... how is Josie?" Hope asked as she sat down on Landon's bed, next to him.

"She is fine." Landon answered vaguely, then Hope looked at him with curious eyes.

"She calls me sometimes to warn me about you... I don't think she'll ever forgive you. I'm sorry."

"Oh." Hope said. she didn't really know what to say, she didn't like the fact that Josie talked trash about her to Landon.

"I don't like to talk to her, not anymore. I could say anything to her, she says you are manipulating me... it's ridiculous at this point." Landon answered.

"I can understand her rage towards me, but she doesn't have to fabricate lies about me... I can't even imagine what Lizzie is thinking about me at this point." Hope said as she started to feel herself get emotional.

"All I know is what MG says... she is pretty depressed. Josie told her about the merge and she didn't take it lightly. I wish they could see you working on it day and night." Landon explained and Hope started crying.

"I wish I could be with her." Hope cried and Landon caressed her cheeks, wiping her tears away. "You know, we actually did it. We have a spell to break the merge, but they would never talk to me. Do you think you could tell them?" Hope asked as she was still struggling with her tears.

"Of course! I hope they'll see you for who you truly are." Landon said and kissed one of Hope's tear-stained red cheeks.

A week had passed. Hope knew Landon talked to Josie, but Landon didn't want to share the details. He only said that he couldn't truly talk to Josie. Hope had guessed that she accused Hope again with manipulation and Josie probably thought she was lying about solving the merge. Landon just didn't want to hurt Hope with the details, but she already knew. There was only a couple days until Christmas and Hope went out for some last minute shopping with Freya. When they returned, Hope was surprised to see her dad and Landon talking in the courtyard like two civilized people. There were no awkward questions and Landon seemed relaxed in his presence. To be safe, Hope rushed to their side to save Landon if needed.
