Chapter 5 - Haku part2

"Everyone ready?" Kakashi asked as soon as he arrived to the gate.

His students gave him a blank stare not even bothering to yell at him for being late. "Let's just  go." Sakura said rolling her eyes.

Naruto stared at the puddle wondering if he should say something. 'Nah, let them figure it out.' he smiled.

A few seconds later Kakashi was 'ripped' into pieces by a chunin. 'Testing our skills I see.' thought Naruto as he let his eyes glance over to where Kakashi was hiding in the bushes.

'If that's the case I should play dumb.'

It didn't take too long for the genins or rather Sasuke and Naruto to take care of the chunins.

"Why are there chunins attacking?" asked Kakashi glaring at the drunken man.

"I'm just trying to protect my village, a C rank was all I could afford." he cried out. 

"Explain."

"Basically a mafia boss named Gato took over our village using as base of his illegal activities, if I'm able to finish the bridge I'll be able to connect the village to the main land and the villagers will be able to carry out trading." he explain with genuine tears rolling down his face.

Of course Naruto was pissed, he didn't like being lied to, but he decided to let it slide, if he killed Gato he'll just keep his money well some of it depending on waves condition which benefited the village, it would be a win in the long run. 

"Let's continue." started Naruto excitedly.

"It's not as easy as that we need to report to the hokage and-" Kakashi was cut off by Naruto's yelling.

"It's a good chance to show this new hokage what we're made of." yelled Naruto with Sasuke silently agreeing. 

Kakashi sighed before sending his dog summon to give a message to the hokage, agreeing to continue the mission.

"How much further Kakashi sensei?" Sakura asked panting. She wasn't used to walking this long a distance, they've been walking for four hours  non stop. It was a surprize the client didnt ask for a stop, of course Sasuke was tired too but didn't show it.

"About an hour at most. Why?" he asked turning the page to his book not even looking up.

"Cause they're tired duhhh, and you call yourself a sensei." Naruto said sarcastically.

Kakashi wasn't going to lie, that stung. "I guess we can take a break then 30 minutes."

"No, 30 is too long, we'll get too comfortable to continue, 15." Naruto rebutted. "And how'd you know that dobe." Sasuke asked panting ever so slightly. 

"From experience." he responded laughing. "Now time to eat." he said excitedly before unsealing a bento. Sasuke and Sakura looked at Naruto's bento with watering mouths.

"Want some?" the blonde teased.

"No"

"Yes"

Sakura looked at Sasuke shocked that he admitted to wanting some. Sasuke was way too tired and hungry to care about his Uchiha pride, besides whose gonna scold him? His mom?

"Here." said Naruto unsealing a second bento. "You knew we'd ask?" Sasuke asked taking the bento and opening it. It was beautiful, looked better than anything his mother had ever made, not that he'd admit to that.

"No, I'm just always hungry." he replied taking a bite out of his lunch. A few seconds later Sakura dropper her pride and asked if he had another, which he did.

Kakashi watched his students interactions as they reminded him much of his old days as a genin he continued watching them as he waited for them to finish resting.

"DUCK!" yelled Kakashi and he shoved his employer and students onto the ground a huge sword missing them narrowly.

"Well if it isn't Zabu-" Kakashi's speech was cut way short when a figure few from the trees general direction and onto Naruto who was just getting back up. Instead of falling like everyone expected he caught the figure, whose lips were now on his.

"Naruto I missed you." the figure whispered into his neck kissing it.

"Why do you look they same from three years ago?" she whisper still clutching onto him. "I'll explain later." he whispered back kissing her cheek.

"What are you doing here?" he asked placing her on the floor while everyone watched the spectacle in shock, well almost everyone.

"Fishcake, you're still alive?" Zabuza asked feigning shock.

"Better question. What are you and Haku doing here?" he asked a bit too calmly for the missing nins liking. Naruto was way too protective over Haku and disliked most of the missions they did when they were travelling together.

"Just taking up a job to slaughter the old man." he laughed jumping from his spot in the tree and next to Naruto.

"Naruto, step away from the missing nin." Kakashi said calmly, right now he seem cool and collected but on the inside he was going crazy, why does his student know a missing nin? one from the mist at that, who or what was the figure that lunged at him.

 "It's fine Kakashi sensei, we're old friends, he's my girlfriend's who is Haku, adopted father." he said smiling and motioning to the person who was now identified as his girlfriend.

"GIRLFRIEND??!!"
