Chapter 13 - Questions all around

***

Kabuto's face flashed a panicked expression for a bit before it returned to a calm one. "An Anbu?" asked Kabuto confused. He was panicked over an Anbu? Though he had to admit, this Anbu seemed off.

The 'Anbu' did not respond, he instead teleported Kabuto and himself to the Hokage's office. Kabuto felt a bit nervous. 'Was I figured out? No, that's impossible. It has to be something else.' Since they arrived Kabuto hadn't gathered the courage to look up and was lost in thought.

Seeing as he didn't look up he didn't look up, he didn't see that the man he had called Anbu earlier was sitting in Lord Hokage's chair.

"Kabuto Yakushi, why don't I remember entering your application into the genin exam under the name of the Hidden Leaf Village?" asked the Hokage. At this point Kabuto has realized that this voice was not the voice of Lord Third. He finally gained the courage to look up and saw that the man he called Anbu earlier was sitting in Lord Third's chair.

"Where is Lord Third?"

The Hokage slammed his hand down onto the table causing Kabuto to jump. "I said, why don't I remember entering your application into the genin exam under the name of the Hidden Leaf Village?" he asked in a much more serious voice, deadly even.

"I'm not sure Lord Fifth? You can contact my jonin sensei, I hope he can better fill you in on why you didn't see my application." he stated calmly adjusting his glasses, hoping the Hokage will buy his excuse.

"Name?"

"I'm sorry?" asked Kabuto confused.

"I'm asking for the name of your jonin sensei. I will verify with him before allowing you to advance in the exam."

"Kirjime Nakajime."

"You are free to go for now, I'll find you once I've verified the information."

"Yes Lord Fifth." Kabuto didn't dare question as to how the man would find him. Though, this meant both him and his master would have to be a bit more discreet to prevent their plans from being ruined.

Back at the office Naruto, or rather Lord Fifth stared at the door that Kabuto had just left through. 'Does he take me for an idiot? Ha, I guess I'll entertain them for now.' he thought with a smirk.

Naruto sent a letter to Shikaku before he swapped back with the clone in time to see that they were just about to begin the first stage of the exam.

"The rules are quite simple. Answer the questions in front of you and no communicating with anyone. That means no talking, whispering, singing or movement. You may begin!" yelled Ibiki as his voice bounced off the walls.

Sakura as Sasuke quickly eyed each other before looking at Naruto hoping he didn't get them disqualified.

As the exam progress the number of occupants in the room reduced to about half it's original amount and Naruto, well, Naruto didn't even have as much as his name on the paper. He didn't see the point.

Naruto closed his eyes getting ready to dose off when he felt a poke at his leg. He peeked over to see that it was Hinata that had poked him. She motioned to her paper indicating she would let him copy. He smiled and took her up on her offer as he wrote at an astonishing speed surprizing her.

Her shock came to an end when Ibiki threw a kunai above her head, disqualifying the person behind her.

She gave Naruto a quick glance only to see that he was already staring at her. Her face turned red as she placed her head on the table facing away from him. Naruto chuckled at her actions before attempting to sleep once more.

Before he could properly close his eyes Ibiki stared speaking. "By now you should have finished the written exam. It is now time for the final question, here you have an option. If you accept and fail, you can't take the chunin exams for the next five years and if you decline you fail now, but have the opportunity to take the exams next year. What do you chose?"

Once more students started leaving the room one by one. Sakura contemplated putting up her hand and as if sensing it Naruto turned around and glared at Sakura. Sakura flinched at the intensity of the glare. 'We should be fine, Sasuke and I's intelligence should be enough for the final question.'  She convinced herself.

After seeing that no one else was leaving Ibiki began speaking once more. "For those of you that remained in room...You passed."
