Chapter 8

Chapter 8 - Together

"Naruto!" squeaked Haku as Naruto kept harassing her legs while she sat in his lap. "Yes?" he questioned innocently as if his hands aren't going places they shouldn't. "You have work to do." she scolded with a blush. 

"Come on, isn't the hokage allowed to take breaks?, plus it's been soooo long since I've last spent time with you" he whined with a handsome pout. "No, you gave up your freedom when you became hokage." she giggled before before getting up off his lap heading to the door. "I'm going to make lunch, so I'll see you in a bit." she smiled heading out.

Naruto frowned before bringing the mask back down over his face. 'I just had to chose to be hokage.' he thought sarcastically mocking his younger self. A knock at the door brought him from his thoughts.

"Lord fifth? It's team 8, we're back from our mission and is here to give a report." Kurenai's soft voice came through the door. 

"You may enter."

As team 8 gave their report Naruto kept staring at the nervous Hinata who had a slight blush, though his staring wasn't obvious because of the mask. "Is something the matter Ms. Hyuuga?" he asked amused.  

"N-no sir, you just, reminded me of Naruto-kun." she squeaked out with a blush surprizing the hokage.

"Really? How so?" he asked intrigued. 

"You just have a similar aura." she said embarrassed. It felt like she was going to pass out any second. 

"Thee lord fifth and that idiot? What are you taking and can I have some?" he asked genuinely concerned for his friend.

"That's enough." said Kurenai hoping Kiba didn't somehow anger or annoy the hokage.

After team 8 left Naruto looked through his documents wondering what he should do next. 'I should get Shikaku to give me updates on the regulations I had asked to be announced. I should also set a summoning system in place since as I no longer have anbus in my office. I also have that situation to deal with.'  Naruto got up out his chair with a sigh before the window. He performed a few hand signs before letting a wind bird deliver his message.

"While I wait I should think of the genins schedule, chunin exams are in 6 months and they need to be ready by the time it's here." he said aloud not only that but this year the hidden leaf would be collaborating with the hidden sand. Naruto smiled at the thought of being able to see his little brother figure.

'6 months, they can do one C class for the first four months taking roughly two weeks. The remainder of each month will be used as a training period. This just might work' he thought to himself. 

A knock on the door interrupted him from pursuing his thoughts. "Lord Fifth, it's Shikaku. May I come in?" Shikaku asked politely from the other side of the door. 

"Of course, come in. You don't have to be so respectful, from what I've heard you were the one keeping most of the village in order, though you were limited since you weren't the hokage nor his advisor." after entering Naruto looked at Shikaku before speaking again. "Did I by any chance interrupt you?" he asked smirking beneath his mask. 

"No lord hokage." Shikaku denied. "Are you sure? Or maybe you just bruise easily." he teased pointing to the love mark on the mans neck causing Shikaku to cough embarrassed. "I just bruise easily."  "I see." 

"I called you here to discuss the reports of the new policies I implemented. I want to know how well they're holding up. "Naruto explained to the embarrassed man. 

Shikaku nodded before starting to explain.

"N-Lord Fifth?" came a beautiful voice from behind the door. "May I come in?" asked the voice. "Hold on." replied Naruto as he finished up his conversation with Shikaku. "Tell her to come in on your way out." Naruto said him causing him to nod in response.

Naruto smiled as his girlfriend entered the office holding a bag in her hand.. "Lock the door behind you." he said smirking as he lifting his mask. "Don't want anyone distracting us."
