Chaos had erupted.

Eren had transformed into his titan form.

The people of Marley fled in horror as the two titans battled in Liberio. People were caught in the middle of it, some being crushed under the heavy debris, while others were heavily injured.

The military already begun firing everywhere, and it's almost time for the scouts to attack. All that's left was to wait for the signal.

You stay hidden in the shadows with Sasha, Connie, and Jean.

"When all of this is over, I'll eat that chunk of ham I've hidden under the crate full of bullets"

Connie blinks in surprise. "Wait, where did the ham come from?" he inquired Sasha, who was preoccupied by reloading her gun.

"Oh you know, somewhere" she grinned to herself.

You roll your eyes in amusement. "And by somewhere she means that crate Captain Levi specifically told us not to touch." You added.

"Y/N!" Sasha smacked your arm with wide eyes, Connie's eyes widening too.

"You did what?!"

"Shut up, Connie. You would've done the same thing."

"I don't think you understood that it was the Captain's orders. Are you trying to get yourself killed by Levi first?"

Your eyes left Connie and Sasha, trailing over to the one and only Jean Kirstein. You notice that he's been sitting in silence as the two bickered.

"Would you shitheads be quiet? You're giving me a headache. Idiots." He finally spoke. The two stopped to look at Jean. Without another word, he stood up and walked away.

"Damn, we pissed him off again."

"It's not my fault, Sasha!"

"Y/N, can you please go after him?"

You nod at Sasha and followed to where Jean headed. You notice that it was a whole other section of the rooftop you were hiding at, and the stars seemed to shine brighter here.

Jean was sitting on a wooden crate, drinking whatever was in his flask. He perked up, hearing footsteps approaching. With that, he slowly reached for the gun that was well hidden under his cloak.

"Calm down, it's just me."

You watch as his grip on the gun softens and he eventually lets go of it.

"You okay?"

"What does it look like? Everything might change tonight, I don't even know if we'll survive this-"

"Hey." You sit beside him. The moon was rather bright tonight, and the soft light emitted from the celestial body above illuminated the sharp features of his face.

The face you've been familiar with for years, the face that you would look at and get lost in from time to time.

Now how am I supposed to tell him? You thought.
