Chapter 4: Welcoming Brinley

Alex POV

I shifted on the bed, I put my hands to my stomach and felt a drastically smaller bump. My eyes flew open, and I was in a different lighter room.

I suddenly remembered the events that took place yesterday. the baby must have been ready. But it wasn't nine months.

"Alex?!?" Seth jumped up from his chair beside my bed, "Doc, shes awake!"

He looked down at me and smiled. I blinked my heavy eyes.

"Where's the baby?" I croaked.

Carlisle stepped into the room back first, pulling a cart looking thing.

"She's so beautiful," Seth said, picking the baby up from the little crib.

He gently pulled the hat on her head a little more and walked to me, with his eyes on her only.

He handed to baby to me, and my heart jumped. she was wrapped tightly in a white pink and blue striped hospital blanket, with a little pink hat on her tiny head.

Her small body was warm, cooler than Seths skin, but warmer than mine. her tiny face was smushed against my swelled breast. she looked up at me with adoring blue eyes. she looked like seth for sure, but with plenty of me as well. one thing I noticed most, is how her face is shaped like seths moms, and she has the same nose as Sue.

I can safely say I'm in love with my sweet baby girl already, three minutes after meeting her.

"How are you feeling Alex?" Carlisle asked me.

"I feel good," I said smiling at my baby.

"That's fantastic. I'm glad you've woken, the baby is getting hungry. would you like to try to breast feed her?"

I agreed with him, and he showed me how to do it.

Seth tried to take part in this but after constant reminders of how much bigger my boobs have gotten I suggested seth left.

Finally she started eating after failing to latch several times.

While she ate I realized she needs a name still. I like Brinley, maybe I'll run it through seth.

Seth came back in after smiling, he kissed my forehead and sat next to my bed. he rested his head on my arm and we just took our creation together.

"Seth, she needs a name," I said.

"Have you thought up any?" He asked,

"I think she looks like a Brinley."

"That's a perfect name baby," seth kissed my arm, "middle name?"

"Sue," i nonchalantly responded.

"Like my mom?" Seth perked up.

"Yeah she looks like her in so many ways,"

I looked at seth and he smiled at me, "how did I get this lucky?" He said resting back on my arm.

Finally everything was perfect. I have a beautiful and healthy family.

"Has anyone met her?" I asked.

"Just the cullens," he said, "I can't wait to show her to everyone."

"Me either," I said.
